I have been making myself laugh all morning with the thought of a bug out bra (not so much use to popwerwell or nuatha tho, soz). I often shove my mobile phone, car keys, loose change, receipts, memory sticks and god knows what else in my bra when I cant be bothered to take my back pack off and put things away properly. I am tempted to ask if anyone else does this but we'll probably get reported knowing my luck.Blah0

Could I ask a favour? Could anybody who has great old cookery books or old style household hints books maybe post the title/author on here? Then we can all have a look at them and spend more money- I mean prep better!

You can get tactical and survivalist corsets, some of which even look practical.0 -
Hi Mardartha! Just checked my bookshelf and can recommend these:-
Make do and mend - forward by Jill Norman
Eating for Victory - forward by Jill Norman
Spuds, spam and Eating for Victory - Katherine Knight
The Stork wartime cookbook (sometimes comes up on ebay)
The Home Book - Mrs D D Cottington-Taylor published by Reckitt and Colman pre war book but possibly found on ebay? covers decorating and furnishing, gardening, cooking, food preserving, health and beauty and even a section on the maids duties!!:rotfl:
Good Housekeeping - Basic cookery in pictures (mine is an old 1950's issue)
Mrs Beetons All about Cookery - I think mine dates from the Titanic sinking
The Lark Rise Cookery Book - Mary Norwak
The Dairy Book of Home Management (a classic from the 1970's)
The Penny pincher Household Hand Book - no author just the letters bca which stand for Book Club Associates - This has 5 sections:-
Baking breads, Preserving and Pickling, Easy vegetable Growing, Making your Childrens Clothes and Everyday Home repairs - It is brilliant and was published in 1979
Saving Money at Home - Olga Franklyn - 1980 a bit dated on some information but covers budgeting, shopping, food, repairs, cars, home etc.,
I have far too many books! but cannot bear to part with any of them!
Still laughing myself silly at Vanoonoo's bug out bra!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
