Though I am not Alison - I also come from Kent, but don't live there now. I come from the Isle of Sheppey (I know, i know) which is relevant because there have been times in the not too distant past that it (and therefore I and / or mum and dad) have been completely cut off due to snow or floods. One winter they had helicopters dropping supplies. JIT philosophy means that a whole, rather large community can be completely cut off for nearly a week and things do start to run out. And this isn't a community in the highlands of Scotland or such like, but one that is less than 50 miles from London.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I confess to not having the foggiest clue where Melton Mowbray, unless it's the county town of Pyeland? I went to the Cheddar Gorge once, you know. I shan't bother again as I got a bit cheesed-off.Sorry. I'll take myself off for a cuppa now.:o

Our local home brew shop sell stills - the chap who owns the shop explained that it is legal to sell them as you could use them to distill water, however it is illegal to use them to make spirits. What you do with them is up to you however. Happy to PM you their website.0 -
