MMM....just finished my home made apple and ginger rice pudding so ready to do my updates now....bit too much ginger though, I am burning up lol.
Had a strange day here, very hot and humid and it keeps going pitch black like we are going to have bad thunderstorms. If we do , it looks like we are going to get them during the night which means we will have to unplug everything before we go to bed. The electrics here do not have an earth but have a trip switch. It never trips in time to save electrical equipment with the lightning that we get here. Its like a tropical storm...as my sister once said on seeing it..the rain goes up as well as coming down! She said she had never seen anything like it...which is quite something for someone who now lives in Scotland.
Having a lot of fun with communications signals as well, seems we have a cme (solar flare effect ) affecting us..so far have lost the tv, internet on and off, and the mobile and house phones. Last time we were affected by one I lost my mobile service for ten days so hope it doesn't happen this time. It's been on the blink all day today. My facebook is impossible, I want to delete a list of friends and I can't do it.
Right, casualty report...my OH is now up and about and singing his head off with the headphones on...to the karaoke on the computer. He has sent an email to the doc to ask if he needs different antibiotics as he still has a bit of an infection.I feel fine, got over it quickly and got no infection. His mum is still in hospital in the UK. She went in because of severe pain and sickness from a gall stone. She has to have an endoscopy done and they are hoping to free the stone that is stuck or zap it into smithereens.
She went down to have it done on Monday, waited five hours in a cold room on the trolley then they ran out of time to do it. She could only get a sandwich as she had missed the meal..typical. The medical orderly was so concerned how cold she was he made her a hot water bottle out of a rubber glove....
She has it done tomorrow hopefully. Someone had frightened her by telling her they would not give her a sedative or anesthetic and that they would only grease the camera....how insensitive can people get? I reassured her that they would probably sedate her and not to worry. Honestly, some people have no compassion for others!
Still lots of scheming and lies going on with the politics here. Let's just say I am keeping all my supplies topped up for when the inevitable happens. The post about Spain and the red cross was interesting, many charity organisations have been feeding and clothing people here for about a year now. We have collecting points for food, clothes and things like nappies at every supermarket if anyone wants to donate. The latest news is that they are planning not to pay unemployment for people who have been contributing to the scheme...many will have no money over the winter and there is nothing else, no housing benefit here, no health care now and no emergency loans or similar.
From reading your posts and preps on here I realise that things are difficult in the UK as well as other parts of the world. In a way its reassuring that its not just us...and I don't mean that in a nasty way at all. I am getting a lot of support and help on here and it helps so much that you all understand what I am talking about. Thanks folks..:T“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. 2tonsils I read that link you posted. There seem to be quite a few mentions of Golden Dawn's surge recently. This is an interesting article

Basically it is suggesting that Germany has been leaned on hard by the US because they are worried about a far left or far right government causing strategic instability in the region.
Bit disappointed in Mrs Doom - she used to take the p!ss but in a funny way. And she would have seen from our responses that we can laugh at ourselves. So no need to be so dismissiveIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Surely though, all threads are open to everyone?
and now, I need to head off for a bit - I've had the sad news that my maiden aunt has died today so I am going to have a little cry and cuddle my husband and my dog and maybe raise a glass of something in her memory.
keep prepping and keep positive everyone xBlah0 -

of course, as long as the golden (and pretty much only) rule of being nice to other moneysavers is followed. and as long as its not spam or a troll. fake logins are not so desirable either. and primarily negative and bullying comments should generally be avoided too. and, in old style threads, general courtesy of keeping one's mouth shut if one has nothing positive to say seems to work best. in my opinion. sadly, sometimes, some people dont tend to do that. but that's ok, cos it gives the rest of us something to smirk at. secretly. or maybe that's just me.
Personally, I felt they had a valid point with regards hiding something one does.
Agree with being nice to others and therefore found myself reporting some unpleasant comments on this thread - and not from the poster who had Troll thrown at them.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -

note for preps: contact details for undertakers!
night folks - for sure this time - keep prepping and keep safe xBlah0 -
Nah, undertakers details are not needed for me or my preps. A will yes, but I'm not spending time, however small, hunting that kind of info out. That's taking prepping into a whole different realm for me. I'm much more into retirement planning.. More positive and more about life and living. hope not to offend, just wanted to say eeeek, I don't want to think about prepping in that way.0
