"How can you borrow your way out of a debt crisis if the problem was created by too much spending, too much borrowing, too much debt?

So why are they still borrowing mega amounts of money?

But it was Britain that faced greater cuts in the IMF forecast than any of its major fellow economies, including Spain, Italy and other troubled euro economies.

The IMF also revealed that this year, for the first time in the crisis, Britain will have a bigger budget deficit than Greece, as the economic collapse undermines the public finances.

If he is upbeat we had better rename him nero.:eek::eek:

"A year on, with Britain in a double-dip recession, borrowing rising as a result and growth forecast to be minus 0.4%, there can be no question that a change of course is urgently needed."

    Ya think???

Things must be bad, Ds came home with a pushbike on Sunday and of course its in the living room leaning against the fireplace. He bought it for £100 off a friend who decided to buy a new one. Are they insane its an amazing bike cost £400 and in perfect condition. Our garage is round the corner behind the maisonettes and we never go over alone as its a bit dangerous so will nip over with him tonight and sneak it in there.

I bought a pineapple so am off to dehydrate it. Am prepping Fu honestly, trying very hard. Even OH is joining in now, he has the bit between his teeth when he is awake that is :o He always supported me but something I said has awakened his interest, for the life of me I dont know what it was.

My OH seems to have stopped laughing too. Taking me to Ikea tomorrow for solar lamps!! This would have met with ridicule not so long ago

No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.
Only after the last tree has been cut down. Only after the last fish has been caught. Only after the last river has been poisoned. Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.

My OH sadly hasn't a clue, just sighs at my efforts & wishes we could "live more like everyone else..." specifically with reference to stores & old fashioned gadgets. He doesn't seem to realise that that became impossible for us years ago, at the point where we went from 2 to 4 small children in one fell swoop. He thinks I should stop worrying my head about things that the Government is paid to deal with, forgetting that before kids, I was actually a Whitehall civil servant, albeit a very junior one!

And TBH he'd be extremely miserable if I did attempt to live like everyone else, or at least spend like them! But very happy if I gave up my chickens & preserving & went back to buying supermarket eggs & jam; sadly for him, that isn't going to happen. Poor man! Just wish I thought he'd see that it does all have a purpose eventually...

  • My OH is supportive too and says that we are going back to living in the dark ages and we are the serfs.

My hubby humours me, rather than supports, but as long as he does as he's told that's fine with me:D

Ginny pet - pretty please - if you can work out what you said- please share it.;)

DH is fascinated by smart meter and gets quite upset when it goes amber - if it hits red he looks as if world war 3 had broken out. It is a good way to reconcile him to my getting back to using the Remoska instead of small oven and to dragging out the slow cooker again.

Just got a good deal on a show shovel from A*****n with free postage so that will get hidden away for DD or DH in the car this winter.

Might try to order a couple of the solar table lamps from Ikea later.
I think the coloured ones have to be bought in store but a black or white one can be ordered online. If I wait till I get one of them working then use it in our living room and DH sees it does not affect the smartmeter he should approve. May eventually think it was his idea. ;)
