A vet is allowed to treat humans because they can get diseases from animals. Interestingly a doctor is not allowed to treat an animal.

Vets are not licenced in human medical practice. The GMC does not appear too make any provision for such registering or licencing. It does not to my mind without further proof be indeed the case in the UK (this is a predominantly UK forum). Other parts of the world may have different practices and regulations.

Doctors registered without a licence to practise:
Are not legally able to practise medicine in the UK
Are not legally able to write prescriptions, sign
death certificates or undertake any of the activities
restricted by law to doctors holding a licence

A vet may not be allowed to treat humans but my father saw the vet more often than his GP! It was his vet that told him to get a chest xray STAT because he didn't like his cough. Turned out he was right (and my Dad listened to the vet more than us nagging woman folk). Dad had lung cancer. Dad later told us that he liked the dog's doctor more than he liked his GP!

And for what it's worth, if the worst comes to the worst, I'd sooner trust our Vet over some of the residents I work with. What's the worst that can happen, I get told I have a shiny coat and a scratch behind the ears.

I would be a bit worried if he wanted to take my temperature :rotfl:
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Had a change of plan MrsL.. after checking the greenhouse and fridge I've got 2 courgettes I found dangling,4 aubergines, tomatoes, lemon peel and some more chocolate peppers in :D

Need to walk RosieDog then back to shred and blanch carrots will chuck these in the fridge then dehydrate tomorrow with the cabbage unless I find anything else lurking in the garden!

I think I may have to do my onions too as one looked a bit dodgy in the greenhouse this morning..is it just me or does nothing seem to be storing for long this year??

I've had problems with storebought and homegrown stuff going over really quick..:(
  • D & DD Mine have dried to perfection thanks to proper directions from Kittie and are now cooling to crispy flakes on the rack in the kitchen. I'll investigate the poly later and I know I have lots of peppers which I'll process this afternoon. Have a good walk with Rosiedog, poor DH and the Dockling got saturated this morning, DH was even wet inside his waterproofs where it had run down his neck, Docky now towelled dry and in his armchair asleep, Cheers Lyn xxx.

And we've had 4-5 days of constant gorgeous sunshine and blue skies - although pure white mornings, frozen birdbath, and a high today of 5C :)
