FUDDLE - you do too do interesting things, you are the one who comes up with the questions that make us all go an find out!!! I think you could be a quester, as in information seeker, because you aren't afraid to ask - and that helps us all learn more, very useful you!!!1
WLL - Woohoo you've got your dehydrator. I've dried the onions thanks to Kitties advice and this afternoon I got very thrifty and having pulled some beetroot for DD1 I trimmed the leaves and shredded and dehydrated them. They have rubbed down to a lovely powder and smell just like crispy seaweed from the chinese, I shall use them as a vitamin sprinkle on dishes in the winter. Have fun with yours, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
To be honest I think the ordinary people have wanted to be out of the euro for some time....but the government are trying to save themselves and line their own pockets as are the international bankers so its not going to happen unless it crashes down around their ears...which isn't beyond the realms of possibility given the way things really are.
Besides, the Greek prime minister signed a paper at midnight (!!) a few months ago giving permission to Europe to take Greek assets anywhere in the world if they default by even three days on one of the payments...that is why all the borrowed money is going straight back to the banks....
Greek has oil/gas and gold reserves worth over 600 billion dollars, and many countries are breaking their necks to get a right to them...its all about the money folks....
Can you believe I had absolutely no interest in politics till a year ago when it all started to get difficult here? I now fight for the underdogs, the old folks in my village with no pensions left, the children with no books or heating in the schools and the people with no hope left.
OOps sorry, that is very political but I am trying to explain how it is here. Sorry if I bored anyone to death...“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin.” Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC):A0 -
2T - you tell it like it is, not boring, honest, thank you, Lyn x.0

Fuddle one of the most practical preps a prepper can have is commonsense and you have that so you'll be fineYou don't need to get lots of 'stuff' just whats practical and comfortable for you and your likely scenarios..
I plan by likely scenarios and needs of my family so my stuff may be entirely different from our more northerly peeps as our weather is generally milder but I live close to industrial units and london and have had to seal the house on more than one occassion!
Annie you'll be fine you can drop cases of magazines on the Z's or use them to build an indoor shelter0 -

having a 'mare in the real world at the moment folks so apologies for only skim reading if I have missed any new members do let me know by PM
2T thanks for the info I'll do some reading but would love any links you have to hand if you could PM me? I've really struggled with being dairy free and initially switching to soy alternates as it seemed to counteract my meds and bring all the old symptoms back - I am on a really high level of levothyroxine (200mcg and possibly about to go up to 250mcg per day) and dont want to have to have any form of surgery as until recent changes (dairy/soy thing) the meds were a great help so if i can avoid problem foods I am happy to adjust!Blah0 -
