do you have a mincer? I often mince lean meant for roasting as it is often so lean, or I cut chunks and do a normal hob casserole0

How about pot roasting it?
Brown in oil in a large saucepan. add some carrots and onions plus about 2 inches of stock. Put the lid on tight, bring to a simmer. make sure the dang thing does not dry out - add more stock if it gets lowIf you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Yes, pot roast it in a heavy pan or slice it and do braised slices of meat in gravy/sauce or cut it into chunks to make a stew/casserole.Val.0

I invested in a very useful heat spreader plate to go on the hob for when I do anything that needs a very slow cook over a long period, it cost about £10 but it is the most useful way of stopping things catching on the bottom. It means I can get on and do other things without having to worry about the pot going dry. Cheers Lyn.0

It could have been a Shewee or a Whiz Freedom
Funnily enough, my OH, although as I have already mentioned, poo-poos () any kind of prepping, bought me a Shewee as a joke present a few years ago after I got 'caught short' while out in the wilds and had to wee in a wood.
Whilst I've no doubt it could come in handy, I've never actually had to use it. Come to think of it, it may be of more use in my bag than in a jumbled drawer too0 -
Hello all
MrsL yes, nail gun would be fun, but am really looking forward to chainsaw training! YEAH the Greenwich Chainsaw Massacre (of the Zombies) LOL
Got my hot water bottles today, 2 lt fully ribbed, real rubber (no nasty PVC), they are lovely. Bought 4 even if DS said he did not want one, but you never know when it gets cold, or a guest needs it. Paid just under £5 each, much cheaper than the cheap plasticky ones in Boots! In case anyone is interested, I got them from
https://www.lovehotwaterbottles.com and the postage, no matter how many you order, is a very reasonable £1.99
Off to do paperwork filing, to get the spare room in order, so we can hire it to students.
Have a good day xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

No slow cooker I need to invest in one.0

As a emergency oven would really recommend a Remoska - low wattage, cheap to run and anything you can cook in a oven you can cook in a Remoska.
We used ours in our caravan but it is so good it lives in the kitchen and comes everywhere with us even Centre Parcs.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0
