Glad to hear we are not the only ones to say ''white rabbits'' at the start of the month. I had never heard of it till my husband told me about it.
I was reading yesterday about the predictions for 22nd December so decided to do some prep for it just in case...so I bought myself a pair of Italian black peep toe five inch heeled shoes today....if I am going to go, I intend going in style LOL
I don't actually think much out of the norm will happen on that date, how about anyone else?
Realistically, I just think the Mayan calendar came to an end, I mean, you can only write it up in advance for so long can't you, so they probably thought they'd done enough. Scaremongering I think. I am a mystical person and I myself don't think anything untoward is going to happen on the 22nd, I wouldn't worry. The Mayans did get a lot right though, they predicted *to a point* the Twin Towers (but so did Clancy in one of his epic novels, maybe that's where they got the idea!) but the end of the world? no, don't think so - but I do think the Scientific evidence points to a certain shift with our world/universe and that may bring other changes, hopefully for the best. I'll be celebrating the Winter Solstice on the 21st, we'll all be OK. Don't let an ancient calendar spook you xx0 -
I think this whole Mayan calandar end of the world stuff is pure BS myself. So what if their calendar does end? The old saying about the map not being the land could also be said to apply to the calendar not being the world.
Anyway, the could do wonderful things with astronomy and mathematics and it did them beggar-all good against the twin onslaughts of massive drought and the Conquistadors.
I shall be going about my business as usual.
I have been Tempted by a set of nesting billycans (3! each with lids which double as frying pans!) for £14.99 but I only need one the size of the smallest, so will resist for now and see what the outdoor barn I haven't visited yet today has to offer. Plus these were alumnium and I'd rather have stainless steel.
Going to have an early luncheon then practice my firestarting on the allotment, if the breeze is slack enough/ blowing away from the houses. The burn ban came off on 1st October.:DEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

The world better not bother ending on the 22nd Dec - its my birthday on the 23rd and I'm not missing my cake !0

They'd never dare let it end on the 22nd in that case MAR that is if they've got any sense at all - just think what they'd get from you either here or in the hereafter if they did!!!! A braver man than me Gungadin!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.0

22nd is a Saturday and in which case I'm not too bothered as we'll all be together, at home, whatever happens. I bet we're all here to see Mar's birthday in0

It had better not because my DS2 is 18 on Boxing Day
I have plans...
I have been for my haircut and had a very pleasant time putting the world to rights with the hairdressers.
I've developed a bit of a taste for mugshots for a quickie snack when I'm busy but was thinking I have a few cheese sauce mixes that I got for 10p..do you reckon I could make one? I know HFW did something on one of his programmes for a pot noodle but I prefer pasta.
I have all different types just wondering if I should experiment with the thinnest first
Would be handy as another from the cupboard snack..0 -

If the grim reaper turns up I want to be able to (a la Red Dwarf episode) kick him in the wotsits and run like hell
Elona, years ago my kickboxing instructor told all the ladies in my class that you should only every buy heels you can kick, stand, dance and run like hell in....so these fit the bill. His advice has stood me in good stead all these years!
I absolutely loved Kat in red dwarf! I used to watch it just to see him in his outfits

I am not worried about the Mayan calendar ending on that date...after all, most of our calendars end on December 31st and we just go on to a ''roll over'' LOL“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. I have just read an email from one of my groups. Kitchen roll or paper towels should be in an emergency stockcupboard because it can be used to replace towels and cleaning cloths in the event of a water cut off. Also it is useful if someone in the house is ill because it can be disposed of without spreading the germs around.0
