I believe American standard baths are only 5' long aren't they? Can any Americans confirm? Wouldn't the thing collapse in a longer bath?
I'm not where I can measure the tub in the States, but it's quite a bit longer than the tub we have now, plus it's an actual rectangle, instead of the nasty shaped [STRIKE]mess[/STRIKE] tub that we have here. Sorry, that wasn't much help was it?0 -
Re: water. Would a Berky filter not be more useful even though it is expensive?0

It might be grandma247, so long as the water supply was contaminated, rather than cut off completely.0

That book sounds interesting Mar -although I'm not really a 'demon' reader. Love Farley Mowat though.
Will have a ponder and then pm you about soaps - I've decided to revamp my etsy store in lieu of my extra hours finishing in May and was thinking about some knitted dishcloths with home made soap - I've done well with dishcloths before.

Aw, delighted you're enjoying it!I had to finish it off beside a coal fire and with a couple of fleece blankets snuggled round, so I'm glad it's not just me that got really engrossed.
Welcome to The Green Lady, and I hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do.
It's absolutely lashing down with rain here - fortunately still from the right direction so the kitchen corner is dry. When it's due to blow from the north west, I will be there with my torch waiting to work out where we are springing a leak!
I had a frugal fail and prepping yes earlier today. I'd planned to only buy fresh this month, and to see how cheaply I could manage. However, having visited Mr T's, I found some GF stuff I hadn't tried, so that's hit the basket along with an offer on GF burgers from Mr m&s. Not exactly what I was intending, but no point in passing up on cheaper food [I say cheaper rather than cheap, as nothing made to be GF is cheap, although things that are naturally GF can be plenty cheap]. Now looking forward to my first toasted bagel in many many months...drool.
ETA - Glad all's well, craigy, and that you are doing ok Ginny. And Elaine, I love how determined you are (and with a great sense of fun too!) - up a hill backwards is something I haven't yet tried, but I can see how it would work.0 -
Lashing down here, and blowing a gale.
Just had two Fiat 500s and a cow fly by my window.0 -

What's GF?0 -
Sorry - that was a bit daft of me. GF = gluten free. I'm coeliac and can't eat gluten or lactose.0

Actually, she went out 5 minutes ago.
I expect she's currently on final approach to Manchester Airport.0
