I'm building one purely for goldfish.

It'll have several levels to it.

    It'll be a multi-storey carp ark. :D

    I'll get my coat. :o

Very nearly hit the report button for that one:)
Oh Dear, Oh Dear and once more oh dear!

:D I've probably made you all mold-paranoids now. Keep an eye on the possibly trouble spots and hopefully you'll never have more than a minor problem.

Yup, Job done! :( (but advice taken on board - have a cellar aka the rubble room - loadsa mould, could be a good resource for a mould research institute - never would've thunk that bleach wouldn't do for it though!

reading room red at the bottom and cream above the rail (cant for the life of me think of the name of the rail - waist height so not Dado?) My cs suite goes perfectly with it - pure luck as Mum bought it and had it delivered. I like to keep it simple.

That'll be a dado rail - traditionally 3 foot up the wall, to keep chairs from rubbing against the wall paper and hence aiding its longevity - old skool preps :)
    Good to see you around.
And welcomes to Green Lady and Roadside, it gets mad, wacky and zany around here, normality is not likely to survive for long round here :)

Delft Rail? not sure but sounds right...

Definitely a dado rail at waist height :)
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

  • Umm, should apologise - recently re-de-lurked, forgot to say happy New Year to all! May re-lurk now but I do think of this thread often and has been very useful and encouraging!

My 2014 prep stuff - use it or lose it! - don't store the stuff we don't use, stay happy with what we've got, eat more cheese (can't be bad thing right?)

    :wave::wave:Hi Green Lady welcome aboard.

Is your user name because you are into things environmental?

Hi, thank you x. My name relates to The Green Lady painting by Tretchikoff - I'm a bit of a vintage buff but I do love vintage because it is about recycling, reusing what is already here. Thanks for asking x

I believe American standard baths are only 5' long aren't they? Can any Americans confirm? Wouldn't the thing collapse in a longer bath?

You are right. A regular bathtub is 5' here.

So the Delft (sp?) rail - at near to ceiling height for displaying the chinaware etc? - will have to google the dado rail then :-)

Sounds like pretty useful resolutions to me.
No need to lurk, the more folk posting the more ideas get shared.

Though I've seen examples of what you're referring to (and the name delft rail does ring bells) I'm more used to seeing picture rails. Though a plate or delft rail could add some useful storage space to a room (though the last one I saw was filled with decorative teapots, though I'm tempted to pinch the idea for books).
