Sarah Fisher, a top dog behaviourist who assessed Lennox for the Belfast authorities last summer, described him as being a "charming, gentle creature."
She told authorities that Lennox had "very good self control" and that in her professional opinion he did not pose a threat.
Lennox, who was described as "shaking like a leaf" during his assessment, has been held in captivity for two years in reportedly inhumane conditions.

By using "Type" it meant they had sweeping powers and could really put any dog under that category, without definite proof.
The only time your guilty before being convicted and where they do not need to have proof.
This law(uk) was rushed in to quell the masses...............But couldnt really do much about other breeds as the kc had too much of a say. The politics of our country.I assume the Ireland one was similar.
I totally refuse to give to animal groups like RSPCA etc due to all the politics behind them, who profess to look after animals but allow these to happen.......Who wont neuter for free, which would solve a lot of our stray problems...but put them out of a job.0 -

The ASSISI where I volunteer, bought their current site from the USPCA & it was apparently,in a hell of a state. It's cost them a lot of hard raised funds to bring it into shape, funds that should be going on the animals.0 -

Do you know what the other experts' findings were? Three separate courts have all reached the same conclusions based on the evidence presented so I think I'd rather listen to them, than a family who couldn't even be bothered to send their dog a blanket when he was in kennels.0 -

I think whatever evidence I present to you will make no difference to your closed mind so I'll use my time contacting people who could make a difference.
I'll say to you again you really don't get it do you?
This is about an innocent dog losing it's life0 -

I'll ask you a question in that case. What makes you believe that you know better than three separate courts who all reached the same decision?0 -
I really don't see american bulldog or lab in him at all.
However I hope he passed peacefully0 -
It has actually put me off the potential adoption of some dogs who look similar as I would be afraid they would be deemed as 'pit bull type'
This one for example:
His details say he is a great dane x americacan bulldog but he does look I guess 'pitbull type'
Humans disgust me to no end. The law on 'pit bull types' is a joke.0 -
Don't forget that this is the same council who's Mayor refused to present a Duke of Edinburgh award medal to a 14 year old because he got the award thru the Army Cadet Force,a youth organization.
Spike, the Mayor you are referencing was from Sinn Fein and he's been replaced. The current Mayor is Alderman Gavin Robinson from the DUP.
They are as lovely as each other...the SF one for the Duke of Edinburgh award idiocy, this one for his idiocy over Lennox.
IMO the whole Lennox thing has brought so much shame and embarrassment to Northern Ireland (or as many many people abroad understand it, to Ireland as they don't realise the distinction). The current Mayor could turn this fiasco into a big positive if he were to allow Lennox to go to the USA. There are Lennox supporters and campaigners all over the world. If there is a chance that Lennox is still alive then it's still not too late.
The whole thing has been a PR disaster of Belfast City Council's own creation. The fools!0 -
Supposed to be happening at 7am this morning. Trying to find out any scrap of information.
This poor dog. BSL is a load of poop.
However..I've heard the stories about the owners as well, not taking treats, bedding etc. Just don't know what to believe. But that isn't the issue, the issue is that a dog is dying because of what it looks like, which is disgusting!
And I know I may get flamed for this, but after 2 years of kennels, and misery, it might be a blessed release for the poor boy. He must be so miserable now, and the condition of him is shocking!Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x
If you can't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them.
I will respect your opinions, even if I don't agree with them0
