    Would you tell the campaigners for Youcef Nadarkhani sentenced to death in Iran for converting to Christianity that he should stay and die or would it be better if he was removed to a country where he and his actions would be legal? Now that's what I call a better analogy.

    Is the issue Youcef Nadarkhani's specific case or the legislation that has him sentenced to death and will have others sentenced to death in the future? Is the issue here the fact that ANY dogs from dangerous breeds are PTS or that this specific dog is allegedly 'innocent' of being from a dangerous breed? Are dangerous breeds being PTS because of the legislation is faulty, because the legislation is being misinterpreted, because irresponsible people continue to breed and buy or a combination? How many death row dogs would you have shipped out to the US, and how will you police the suitability of their future home and neighbourhood?

    Animals are not humans.

    But both can be executed for harmless behaviour in the wrong jurisdiction.

    Both are in the wrong jurisdiction for their health and future life and it seems better to change their jurisdiction than their vital status. Remember that these laws were put together to help us but if someone faces death in one area and life in another justice is better served by transferring them.

    I wouldn't kill a person or animal to teach somebody a lesson. Countries make laws to make things better. However when rules turn round and start killing us ........

    And killing people or animals to satisfy a rulebook rather than an immediate safety issue is, no pun intended, tails wagging dogs.

    Accepting the death sentence or changing the jurisdiction are not the only options. Nobody said anything about teaching people a lesson, where did that come from? You didn't actually answer the questions in my previous post BTW.

    A bit of news:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-18778793
    The First Minister of Northern Ireland has intervened in high profile row over a decision to destroy a dog that has been described as dangerous.
    Peter Robinson has suggested that Lennox, a pit bull-type animal, should be re-homed.

    Statement from the family;

    http://www.examiner.com/article/family-of-lennox-releases-official-statement-on-doomed-dog-s-fate
    Official Statement From Lennox's Family:

    We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all again for your messages of support. We are sorry to say at the present time Belfast city council seem to be intent on killing our boy. Despite previous assurances otherwise, we have been denied the opportunity to say goodbye. We have also been told that we cannot collect his body and bring Len home. We have been informed however that we will receive "some" ashes in the mail.

    OMG :(

    That is terrible....
  • I think I'll go with the experts on this one. Looking at all the objective facts, I'm struggling to see how this family has any right to elicit sympathy from the public.
