LiGhTfasT, thanks for that mate, I used your xml file (modded) and have tomtom.exe and voices, maps on sd card, also have tcpmp on sd card

I have no mp3 player or tomtom or tcpmp showing.... do my folders look right?

Folder setup looks right but i think you have the installation files in your tomtom directory instead of the unpacked versions (only by looking at the .cab files)

In the storage card folder you should have the maps (which you have), voices, tomtom and zip folders. Inside the tomtom folder i have data.chk, Munich.bin, tomtom.aid and TomTom Navigator.exe which is about 1.6mb prtobably dont need some of them but i just copied them all.

I had the unpacked versions from my PDA so im not sure how you'd get them if you only have the .cab files

unpacked the cab files... still no joy (copied nav icon.png and renamed as tomtom.png and replaced) no icons showing for tomtom, tcpmp or the medion mp3 player
  • Another thing you can do is change the splash and front end screens.

    Splash

Drop GoPal_BackgroundSplash from \My Flash Disk\Navigation\menu\480272 on the desktop, then edit and select new.

Open up image of your choice 480x272 resolution and save it with the same filename.

    Front end.

Drop GoPal_BackgroundShell from \My Flash Disk\Navigation\menu\320240 ..... follow the same for splash screen exept using a 320x240 resolution but when I used that resolution it came up a bit too small so stretched it using paint.

I'm not 100% happy with mine I have to admit.. :o maybe I'm relying on it too much and expect it to never go wrong on car journey's I don't know, but here are my gripes.

The display - I cannot see it at all and the only way of seeing it is to hold it in my right hand whilst driving with my left - not good and have only done this on occasions where I've been in a real mess and really lost.

Three times now it has stopped communicating for no reason and I've had to pull over and re-input my destination  today I got lost 3 times, ended up back on the same motorway but in the wrong direction (basically coming home again :o ) and having to do mad U Turns in the middle of Manchester City Centre :o

My friend said he had a Sat Nav which he couldnt' gel with and has urged me to get a Tom Tom as he know's how chronically bad I am at directions and recons it's not worth the heartache with this one.

ALso, does anyone know if you can opt for a 'no motorway' option? I have tried but have failed to find this ? I have had it up to my eyeballs in motorways I really have!!!

route settings at the bottom of the screen (in navigator press m) avoid motorways is an option

turn the brightness up full (in settings) helps you see the screen
