In case anyone is still reading this thread the PNA205 is currently (today) available for £44.95 from bigpockets.com. I've just ordered one with the hope of getting TT6 on it (will settle for TT5 if that proves problematic).0

Eagerly peeking at it! Would be very appreciative if you could outline your process when it arrives.0

It arrived today and I have spent a couple of hours tonight trying to get TT6 onto it.
I have TT6 running on my Palm Treo phone and the full install files for PPC. I figured that would be enough but it seems not. I cannot run the cab files to install properly. I did find some unpacked files but they give the fatal exception as soon as TT starts. It's probably just a case of getting the right files in the right place but it will take some more experimentation.
I'm running from SD and so the only change to the internals is the menu file.
The Medion software seems to work ok for now so this will have to be a long term project.0 -
Hi There,
I think i'm in a similar boat, ran through a TomTom install to the point of the GPS popping up a windows selection screen titled 'Install TomTom Contacts Navigation'. The selection window has a cab for each module of tomtom listed and asks one by one about them. hitting Esc writes nothing to the /Storage Card/ at all, and double clicking the related .cab writes a .rar to /Storage Card/ for each module, but nothing appears to actually install!
edit:
selecting 'enter' on the on screen keyboard 'installs' some stuff, but writes to the GPS as well as the SD card, and in unexpected folders!0 -

Yes, I found the same. Installing Total Commander at least gives you a way to navigate and run any files (including cabs), so much easier that constantly hacking the menu file.
I did eventually get an old copy of TT5 to install and run. Even this is much better than the GoPal software but I would still like to get TT6 on there as I have a copy and it is much better (and the maps are more up to date).
For now though I copied the TT5 files to an SD card, put it in the 205. Ran the start.exe which ran the install (partly to internal memory but after several attempts I got it to go in "Storage Card\Program Files\Navigator" with just the config files on the internal disk. I then copied on the most recent TT5 maps I had (not great but they will have to do) and changed the menu so that the first icon on the front screen is TomTom (GoPal is relegated to the second screen).
The only issue I have (apart from not being TT6) is that the satellite signal meter reads zero at all times even though it is working (have to use other NMEA on COM2 setting). The battery meter also reads full at all times.0
