ALso, does anyone know if you can opt for a 'no motorway' option? I have tried but have failed to find this ? I have had it up to my eyeballs in motorways I really have!!!

Get it to calculate your route, then hit the 'M' icon in the bottom left.
Press the middle of the three bottom icons, you're taken to the 'Route' screen.
    Press 'Route Options'
Bottom right is a button that says 'Use Motorways', press it and you can choose to 'Avoid Motorways' instead

This is what comes of playing with my new toy FAR too much already!

    Student: "uuuuuuuh, nice monkey?"
    Librarian: "OOOOOOOOOOOK?!?!?"

I have no MP3Player.exe file anywhere, can someone supply a copy? thanks

  • Noone has the mp3 player file, I think all the references in the xml file covers a few models because there is a few different lines for it.

If you want mp3's use the TCPMP media player and add the lines to your menu.xml file.

Thank Lightfast, Ritz and Bellamy for the help, the advice and the files.

I went back to the original menu.xml file and started over again using the RITZ 55 menu.xml additions. I also re-ran Regedit and reinstalled modified.reg. - but I am still getting the Error message as before.

When I open/run TomTom, the blue screen loads up to 50% then crashes. Ive found I can get around this by clicking on the screen before it gets to 50% when I can jump to the Main Menu. I can then navigate through the menu with no problems but device crashes again when I try to open some of them such as Advanced Planning and Navigate To. Dont have this problem with Change Preferences icon and was able to adjust Volume Preferences. Also disappointed to see "No GPS device!" in small yellow letters at bottom of Main Menu.

GPS Status is configured to "Other Cable NMEA GPS", Baud Rate 4800 but, although the words Com1, Com2 and Com5 are displayed on the next screen none are apparently selected (I know Com 2 Is the correct one).

Just wondering if my Folders and Files are in wrong place Ive got Maps, Zip, Licences, Voice in Flash Disk and ive got the rest in Flash Disk/TomTom ie data chk, tt navigator.exe, tt aid, Munich, Current Map.
  • Please please please, someone work out a way to get into windows.

Hiya try the following and this may resolve the issues.

Do a hard reset of the unit. This can be done by holding the power button in and pressing the reset button with a pin under the unit.

After that rerun the regedit part of it and hopefully everything should magically start working as expected.

Hi all, I see there are plenty like me that cant get their head round this device:confused: . I know it was cheap but if it cant direct you correctly then its of no use  . I've read that TomTom is being ported on to it and was wondering if some one could put step by step instructions up I would be eternally grateful as I'm sure would others. If not then unfortunately its going back:D
  • Hi, has anyone any idea why mine sometimes comes up with "memory low"? Its virtually straight out of the box, nothing added to it. Thanks
