Put the CD in and explore it. It has only one directory called "7".
If you look at the SD card that you created and used earlier, you'll see that it has directories "0", "1" and "3" along with some other files.
So, just copy the directory "7" and paste it into the top level of the SD-card (the whole directory and not just the contents).
Reboot the system and it copies the files over.
The there is an icon in the bottom right, touch the red square with a sharp object and it then gives you the option to turn on the speed camera warnings.
I tried this and it worked 1st time - thanks for the info :T0 -

I copied the "7" folder into the "my flash drive\INSTALL" folder that I set up before.
Rebooted the unit which kicked off the install, went onto the sat nav N icon and waited for the signal to pick up where I was. I then had the little red square in the bottom right hand corner. I clicked on it and enabled the speed camera setting.0 -
I also want to get the MP3 player working??0

Dead link? To be honest I am hacked off with it already - seriously thinking of going to Tesco and seeing if I can put money towards a better one to be honest! The saying 'get what you pay for' is firmly in my mind:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin0

Made a guide for anyone wanting to install tomtom5 on to a sd card and still keep the medion software too.
Tomtom so much better than the medion software, very responsive and seems so much nicer! :clap:
Very easy to if you have the tomtom software and a spare SD card. i now have both running fine.
1. Install activesync on your pc and view the device in file explorer.
2. Backup as much as you can (some files wouldnt copy for me). You'll mainly need a copy of \My Flash Disk\Navigation\menu for the menu.xml
3. Navigate to \My Flash Disk\Navigation\menu and copy menu.xml to your desktop and right click and edit with wordpad.
Replace the text at the bottom with this
<app name="pictureviewer" mandatory="0">
<title text="" color="255,227,255" halign="left" valign="bottom" font="Arial,16,BOLD"></title>
<icon posX="50" posY="165" width="80" height="75">
<resource path="navigation\menu\320240/icon_photoviewer.png" />
</icon>
<action path="\My Flash Disk\PictureViewer.exe"></action>
<action path="\My Flash Disk\Medion\PictureViewer.exe"></action>
<action path="\My Flash Disk\Navigation\PictureViewer.exe"></action>
<action path="\My Flash Disk\mnav\PictureViewer.exe"></action>
<action path="\MultiMedia\PictureViewer.exe"></action>
<action path="\Windows\PictureViewer.exe"></action>
<action path="\Medion\PictureViewer.exe"></action>
<action path="\Navigation\PictureViewer.exe"></action>
<action path="\mnav\PictureViewer.exe"></action>
</app>
Add this text beneath it
<app name="TomTom Navigator" mandatory="0">
<title text="" color="255,227,255" halign="left" valign="bottom" font="Arial,16,BOLD"></title>
<icon posX="235" posY="165" width="80" height="75">
<resource path="navigation\menu\320240/Icon_navigation.png" />
</icon>
<action path="\Storage Card\TomTom\TomTom Navigator.exe"></action>
</app>
Doing that moves the pic viewer icon to the left and makes a new icon for tomtom on the right in the media menu. Note the action path if you want to install tomtom in a different directory.
Now replace the one on the sat nav with your new one (theres room for a middle icon which i hope im gonna use for a media player, it was used for regedit from a guide i was following but dont seem to need it)
4. Copy tomtom to the storage card so you'll end up with
\Storage Card\TomTom\TomTom Navigator.exe
You'll also want to copy the maps over, Voices and zip folders. I had these from my xda install i wouldnt know how to get them otherwise.
5. Reboot the device (button on bottom) click the media icon (one on right) you should see the navigator icon on the right now which is tomtom. Click that and setup tomtom as needed. Set the gps device to "other cable NMEA GPS", baud rate 4800 and COM2
Notes.
* If the sat nav hangs after clicking the tomtom icon it probably means your maps arent installed right or activated which i had to mess around with for a bit but finally worked.
* If for some odd reason you kill your sat nav dont blame me :shrug:
* thanks to Ritz on MSE for the guide i used and pocketgpsworld
gonna try xvid tommorow now early start tommorow0
