But what I don't understand is how the moderators allow for discussion on making illegally copied software work...

    Absolutely shocking!

One would naturally assume that these are law abiding MoneySavingExperters who are using their own existing legit licensed copy of TomTom to end up with a better SatNav and learn how it all works in the process so they can improve POI and overlay/map handling.

It's actually a text written by medion to allow you to add seamless european mapping (if you have the maps)
Search the DVD for the maps in the folder "MapRegions" (file type ends in type .map). Copy the MapRegions to your memory card in the folder "MapRegions".

If your computer offers possibility to write to the memory card, you can write copy it directly to the memory card.

Doing it this way, it takes less time to synchronise via ActiveSync. The remaining details are available in the equipment handbook.

You can place more files on your memory card, depending on the capacity of the memory card.

If there's only one file in the "MapRegions" folder, the navigation software will select it.

If there are more files available in the map MapRegions, search and choose/select the choice you wish to make from the navigation card.

My Thanks Go Out To ritz55 For The Tomtom Guide
Almost Got It Now Just Have A Problem With Maps
    And An Exception Error :D
Im Sure I Will Figure It Out In The End

Hiya did you run the Regedit and apply the Modified.reg file, the Exception error is caused by the My Documents pointing to the main memory rather than the "My Flash disk". Think tomtom is not able to write back or requires more temp storage space.

Also just to point out I do take software Compliance very seriously and do have a valid license for TomTom and would also recommend other do the same. I am a FAST(Federation Against Software Theft) approved Software Auditor and it's just not worth my while to use illegal software.

Can someone tell me how to select the language on the medion.

I thought the device was supposed to pick up where it is, and display in the regional language, but it is saying the country is France, and displays in French. Even after taking the unit outside the house and switching it off and on again. I tried using a paperclip to reset the unit, but it still comes up with France.

my mate has the same issue....

Of course that is what one would assume, hence no translation services would be required...

Also the (c) 2006 Medion indicates that the text is copyrighted, but of-course I wrongly assumed that the person contacted Medion to gain approval to post it on a forum and ask how to translate it...

Sorry, I do apologies...Silly me jumping to conclusions....
