How about using Active Sync which is provided with the unit on CD. This worked fine for me.0

Activesync worked first time for me.. you didn't plug the GPS into the PC first did you? I've got Activesync on another PC (for my Windows mobile 5 phone) and it worked first time also.
Just use the version on the CD, don't download a new one or it might be the wrong version.
Have a look in My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device manager and see if you've got the drivers badly installed0 -
Sounds daft i know but have you switched the satnav on before you plug it in to the computer?0

in connection settings, the usb setting goes from connected to usb is available and back like a slow pulse???? tried 3 diff cables and this is on 2 pcs, all cables are working and usb ports and sat nav is on.0

How about using Active Sync which is provided with the unit on CD. This worked fine for me.

Where does it appear in the device manager? Under USB?
If I attach and disconnect my 205 it changes nothing under the device manager, but I do get a green light on the 205 so power is getting there.
I would expect something to change as it is a dynamic list.0 -

I did a hard reset and got connected0
