Blimey £41 that is great. I emptied mine out in January and it is vvv empty. I used to save two pound coins and will have to start this again.

Roll on payday. The good thing is we are all committed to saving and we are thinking on the right lines. I can't believe I haven't spent anything on ebay. That was such an addiction to me so I must have learned something in the last few days.

  • Hello :j

I'd like to join this! I'm currently saving £1,000 for emergencies and £1,000 for a holiday & new laptop.

    Currently:

    £600/£1000 emergencies
    £72/£1000 holiday/laptop.

Really need motivation to keep going!
  • Welcome wantobeasaver! I see we have similar saving goals except i don't want a holiday this year just new clothes haha!
I am hopfully going to repair a pair of country/riding boots this week as i have ordered some repair glue and if this works will be saving myself £60+ the glue has cost me £4.40 and is supposed to be really good, my right foot keeps getting wet as there is a little crack in the heel other than that they are sound. If it works then the money i would have spent can go into savings.....we shall see! Other than this i have nothing to report savings wise. Its pay day this weekend (get paid on 1st of month) but probably wont save anything until OH gets paid on 13th.
Trying not to will my life away waiting for that date is really hard, i've noticed that's a common theme between us savers and it's something i try not to do. must live in the now....must live in the now......hehehe

  • Hi Oldtractor (love the name) glad to have fellow horsey person on board! and yes your right even saving 50p here and there really adds up over the course of the month. Well done on your savings, looking forward to the day I reach my targets :o

This thread has an up beat feel about it because it's pay day/weekend. Remember to think twice about those purchases.....are they NEEDS or WANTs sorry to put a downer on the day we feel loaded but if your anything like me you'll be on that ebay quicker than a rat up a drainpipe :rotfl:

couldn't think of a better analogy than that sorry i'm a country girl.

For those of you who are interested i've received my boot glue so now drying out said boots and will be attempting the delicate operation probably Sunday (boy I lead an exciting life) in the meantime i have "borrowed" an old pair of wellies that were gathering dust at my yard so they will do me. Was soooo tempted to buy some new ones but glad I haven't I really wanna put that £60 into the savings.

Will look forward to finding out how much you've all managed to save for Feb :T

Savings NOW re the wellies I have gone from wearing expensive Joules etc to cheap "farmers" green wellies around £8 a pair and was thrilled when I found some in a sale for £4. Then eventually took it further when the left one got a crack round the heel so threw it away and kept the right wellie and found an old left wellie also saved from ages ago so now wear 2 different shades of green!" LOL
