Hello mimokI am on half term. Blimey it is quiet here. Still I am glad to meet a fellow 'newbie'.
I am going to amend my post so you can see I am saving from scratch too.
I have ebayed some items and am hoping someone might buy them and then I can add that to the kitchen fund which is non existent at the moment.
I am also going to spend much less cash than usual and all my friends have been told not to allow me to buy anything from ebay which is my downfall.
Payday in two weeks.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Hi savingwannabe I am loving half term but keep getting distracted from making and saving some extra money! I have a couple of things I need to photograph to sell on fb so will try and get that done tomorrow. I have a few things I could ebay too so maybe that can be my aim as well. Good luck with your ebay sales!
I did price up Disney too, eek! Will be worth it to see their faces though

Hi newbies -thanks for tagging along. It's been quiet here for a while except Saving_NOW and myself.
Totally agree Mimok -half term is more about having a good time (but also for getting the best deals on going out).
What a great idea though for your girls. Funny how time creeps up like that isn't it? Though I used to say -'I will start saving when...' There is no better time that NOW. Do yourself a budget if you haven't done so already. Surprising where you can save.
Mine is worked into what I need to save for those yearly expenses, monthly essentials spending (any DD's, petrol etc), then general spend allowance.
My 'child' is 16 now but I intend to make the best of this year as it may be the last he will want to spend on his trips with Mum!
Savingwannabe -is the kitchen your main reason for saving or are you looking to put some aside too? Sorry just read your other post, was surprised to have a few to catch up on. I remember you from previously being on here. Hope this challenge goes well for you. I am a part timer too though consider myself full time in other areas of commitment.Back on the trains again!0 -
Hallo Davenport! I am saving for a kitchen only but i would be good to have an emergency fund too.
Your savings look really good. :money::money:Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Hi everyone, well it didnt take me long to have to "dip" into the savings as my laptop died!!! after 6 years of daily usage i believe i got my moneys worth, so i had to use £89 to buy a hp tablet to use until i've managed to save for a decent lap top. At least i can get onlne and still use excel on this tablet and actually it's really good!.
So will have to start the "lap top and new clothes" savings from scratch again haha.
I have however NOT touched my regular saver because it is a postal account and seems to be the barrier i need to stop me spending!.
So i have updated my sig.
Hope all the posters here are having a great weekend?Regular saver £200 Saving for emergency fund (£2000)

Thanks for that savingwannabe -though I think this needs adjusting as the £600 got used up in getting the bathroom extractor replaced plus dentist costing more! Need to update sig!
I will get a couple of small electric jobs sorted out first then may have a few months break to build funds up again.
Saving_NOW - that's what its for too! Things that otherwise we would be taking from our regular wage. Well done on not touching that regular saver though,:TBack on the trains again!0 -
Hello Davenport 151 and SAVING NOW. If my computer died I don't know how I'd cope. It was second hand when I bought it and a nice man from work always fixes it for me for about 20quid so far I haven't had any problems.
It is one of those things we take for granted. I am debating whether or not to cancel my virgin contract (broadband, basic tv and internet) for £30 a month and line rental. That is my only sin as I don't go out. Lots of my friends have cancelled it but I don't do anything else and don't know if I could live without it.
I have looked at the months figures and I have paid the builder for work he did in the kitchen (leaks under the sink and broken washing machine) so I don't have any spare money for this month and maybe next month but at least I paid him.
I don't mind too much as at least I am not overdrawn.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Hi Savingwannabe, it is so disheartening to have to dip into the savings but like Davenport said thats what it's there for!
I think next month is going to be a tight month for us so possibly will only be able to save £50 which is the minimum i need to put in my regular saver to qualify for the bonus so i'm thinking as long as i manage that it will be a succesful month for me. (otherwise it will do my head in and i'll get frusurated ) so gonna set an acheivable goal and pray nothing else breaks hehe
The weather is hideous here today i'm hoping that it clears up this week so i can get out on my horse in the countryside!
Also Savingwannabe if you value your virgin internet package and you get your money's worth out of it then you should keep it, we all need something to look forward to and people would think i was mad with the amount of time money and energy i spend on my horse but like you said i don't go out drinking i don't smoke it is what i choose to invest myself in and it keeps me out of trouble!
Anyway enough of all that, heres to a frugal week ahead with no "extra expenses"Regular saver £200 Saving for emergency fund (£2000)

Yep, payday this Friday. I can't wait. Most of the money is spoken for but I will have some left over that I would like to save and not spend. I don't drink or smoke - I can't afford to! How do people manage?Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Savingwannabe- sorry about the laptop, typical isn't it? I agree about keeping Virgin if that's your treat. We have Netflix which I love and refuse to give up til the bitter end!
Saving_now £50 is £50 and not to be scoffed at
I counted my loose change jar today and have the grand sum of £41 in there! Just need to lug many bags of pennies to the bank and hope they change it up! Haven't managed to make any other savings since I joined this thread but it's payday Fri so hopefully will have more to add
