Thanks for the advice everyone. They did get into my yahoo account so I have changed the password on that. I have just spoken to live help and they were brilliant!

P.S. They were bidding on some mobile phones. My account details had all been changed so that was why I couldn't even verify my details. Re: the changed name and address on the account - is that the name of the scammer or just a random name and address the scammer has chosen?

Not heard from her again, fortunately, although she hasn't done a mutual.

However, I have just had another American person who I think is even more stupid than her - there are two items of theirs that I've "won". He's reported me as NPB and I keep responding telling him that I don't want the items, account hijack, full explanation of what he has to do, and he comes back with YOU OWE, YOU PAY... YOU SORT OUT, NOT MY JOB..... type thing and then finishes off his messages with GOD BLESS.

My latest reply was I'm not paying and will not respond further to this dispute. Dunno what happens now, but I couldn't really give a monkeys what he does next as I'm reasonable sure that ebay will do as they say and remove NPB strikes and negs from my account. Again, if he negs me I will certainly neg him back if it lets me, just for being a complete idiot :rotfl:AVOID THIS MUPPET, HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND ENGLISH.... GOD BLESS XX

Pleased GI Jane has left the building.

LMAO, you poor thing. Think you are doing the right thing by going down the ignoring route. Love your neg plan too.

Hope things get settled sooner rather than later now. It's dragging on a bit isn't it!

Theres definately somerthing going on at Ebay towers. Convinced of that now. All these people being hijacked and all pretty certain they haven't clicked on links in phishing emails...

I haven't been online in over a week. The first time I went online was yesterday evening and all my accounts were fine then. I log in today and find I have been hacked into and 5 mobile phones have been bid on today on my account. I therefore assume the account hijack happened since last night. I just checked my yahoo email last night (which was also hacked into) and haven't deleted the emails yet. So I had a look at them (I didn't open them as I am now paranoid) and I can't spot any that look suspect. The only ebay emails I clicked on were the favourite searches emails. The only other emails were link-free ones from friends and listings emails from my local theatre etc. etc. I can't work out how it happened. I have scanned my computer for everything and have a mac so am less vulnerable to attack anyway. I wish I knew how it happened.

Absolutely! And to think only 15 of the 32 items have been resolved so far with mutuals:rolleyes:. Hopefully at least a few of the remaining 17 sellers have fixed it by contacting live help. Please!!!

As for the "God Bless" evil american, he gave me 2 NPB strikes which ebay removed within a couple of hours after I appealed. So at least now I know that if anyone else does the same, I don't need to bother entering into any correspondence with them, will just say 'account hijack, I won't be paying', wait for the strike and then appeal. No point in adding to the stress.

I tell you, if this ever happens to me again, like the poor person who had it happen twice in a week, I think I'll probably just close my ebay account and start again with a new id. An unblemished feedback score of 200 isn't really worth all this hassle.

Especially on top of being up all night with my 5 month old who has a horrible cold and a temperature. I needed nasty Mr Godbless like a hole in the head.

He he. GI Jane kindly reported me as NPB today. I responded to say account hijacked, seller please close dispute to reclaim your fees and I will liaise with ebay to remove the strike. Fortunately she didn't respond and actually closed dispute without further comment, so I appealed and strike should be removed soon.

However, just checked my feedback and she has left me positive feedback saying Great Ebayer, fast shipping. What an idiot. She left the same feedback for 5 others, must have muddled me in with the group. Oooh, so tempted to leave her a neg :rotfl:

Her emails from the other day were pretty unpleasant...... hmmmm.... what to do..... ;)
  • Hi All, just had my ebay and yahoo accounts hacked into in the last week. Managed to get back into my ebay account (but not my yahoo account yet  ) however, i went into my sent messages on ebay and found that the hacker has been asking lots of questions about mobile phones. They have also left an address on there of where they want the goods sent to!!! It is an address in Essex, can anyone advise me of anything i can do with this address? Will the police pay any attention or should i just forget about it?

Am loathe to let criminals get away if i can help it!

    Hey Stinky ;)

I'd definitely try reporting them to police, got to be worth a go. If they aren't interested then that's up to them, but I'd give it a try. Much more likely to get results than an address in Nigeria! Let us know how you get on.

Have to agree with Purplepatch on this one. Follow it up as far as you can. save a copy of messages too, in case ebay wipe them clean as they will the rest of yor account that happened after the hijacking.

Pleased GI Jane finally got back to you PP, and that she finally seems to have got the message!! :T
