Transcom/Arrow Global - unknown debt

If you're unsure about any debt or payment request, send a letter complete with a cheque for £1 requesting proof of contract within 28 days from the date of your letter. Personally I wouldn't sign this letter, just type your name.
Companies such as Arrow Global purchase old debts, slap on a load of interest and then attempt to recover this using scare tactics. They will also employ other agencies like Allied International Credit (AIC) various solicitors etc to act on their behalf. Keep a check for illegal credit agreements such as "store card" for the amount on Experian, Equifax & Callcredit. The simple fact is this, NO PROOF = NO DEBT!
Block their number on your phone and treat any letters you receive as junk mail, because that's all it equates to and they don't have a legal leg to stand on.
Don't be bullied, let them waste their time and money if they want!0 -
Careful - this may be taken as a s77-79 request under the consumer credit act, which does carry a £1 fee. You only have this right under the act if it is your debt.Collector_Wrecker wrote: »If you're unsure about any debt or payment request, send a letter complete with a cheque for £1 requesting proof of contract within 28 days from the date of your letter. If you want them to prove it is your debt, send a prove-it and DO NOT send money.0 -

Yes sending a £1 payment to a company fishing for looooong since statute barred debts seems about the worst possible move you could make0 -
