Transcom/Arrow Global - unknown debt

Meant to add, letter is dated the 7th, only came today and guess what; payment has to be by today or they'll send a collector round - oh well, guess I'll put the kettle on!

Search for Arrow Global on Manchester Evening News' website reveals an article which to no surprise explains they are buying up discounted debt from catalogues and other sources which has been already written off by the said companies - i.e. the original company had no interest in pursuing it any further, hence why people are receiving letters out of the blue from Arrow! Hopefully it means they don't have the full details and the credit agreements that were originally agreed etc so the "prove it" letters may throw them off the chase and close your account/file.
I'd post the link but MSE usually blocks it - its a report about them appointing a new CEO and it's dated 28th June 2012.0 -
Hello guys ..
5 years ago i had to terminate my contract with a mobile phone company because they changed their offer without giving me any notice!!! a copy of our agreement and contract would show we had contract for one year with the same offer and not changing join one year !!!!! so i paid my latest bill and canceled my contract with them and sent them a letter about reasons ! and closed my direct debit monthly payments ,even sent back that handset which never been used in the same box and new! after about 4 years of that , got a letter from a company about a dept of £430.00 ! sent them prove it letter and they just replied this is a charge of cancelling your contract with such a mobile company and you had to pay one year until end of your contract !! sent them a letter from above phone company and prove of they accepting all reasons and leaving our contract ! but they replied that thats not their business and i must pay the amount ! and i just ignored them ! since they passed it to several dept companies claiming the same thing ! until today got a letter from a company called Transcom behalf of Arrow Global Guernsey Limited'!!! letter has been issued two weeks before and i received it after 13 days and i had one day ! to pay the money or they send a doorstep collector !! checked my credit file to make sure ,and i see that amount there is as default in 2007 ! i dont know if sending prove it letter would work or not ! im at work in day time and my wife is at home ,, she is pregnant and just so worry if someone knock our door as dept collector when im not home which can panic her really bad !! Any advice would be so appreciated .. thank you .0 -

Most threats to send a collector are just that - empty threats. It's not cost effective to have people travelling great distances when they're unlikely to get any payment. In the unlikely event that one did turn up, they would have no legal rights - they are not bailiffs.
As they have written to you I probably would send a prove-it. But it's up to you.0 -
Thank you so much , im sure if i send a prove it letter they will reply the same thing as previous companies did ! they just say this is what you need to pay and the rests are not our business ! they really dont care ! then they start to send letter and letter and threating again !! i think i must just ignore them and if someone turn on my door phone police ! i would love if they take me to court ! atleast there is someone to listen what i say and is fair !0

Hi
Silly question but who do I send the letter to? Transcom who sent the letter on behalf of Arrow Global Guernsey, or directly to Arrow?
Thanks0 -
Transcom are chasing you for the alleged debt so send the letter to them.0
-
Yes. However if it gets continually passed from collector to collector acting on behalf of Arrow, then you may want to consider challenging them direct to put an end to those silly games.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Just thought I would throw mine in too,
I got home today after work and found a letter sent from birmingham telling me of a debt of £83.60 owed to Arrow Global Guernsey LTD.from a firm called transcom based in Leeds !!
the geographical excursion was mindboggling enough, but no idea what its about.
I am amazed that the letter is dated 17 august arrived today and expected payment tomorrow so not gonna happen as no details of what its all about and should never think to threaten me with debt collectors:mad:
I did used to have debts following a period of credit card madness but paid off 23,000 in 6 months so no more debts for me!!0
