Would be statute barred, and Transcom/Arrow can take a long walk off a short pier.

i rang transcom today to find out where my apparent debt has come from... i have kept my eye on my equifax account for years as admittedly i walked away from debts when i was married...
i cannot beleive what they have just told me. my debt is from an account i opened with littlewoods in 1993 and defaulted in 2000 (divorced year). and this is the first Ive heard anything from them and it has never been registered on my credit file... where do i stand with this. The original debt was probably £200. now 12 years on i apparently owe nearly 2 grand. i am fretting about this immensely

Don't fret. Ignore. They are trying to recover money long since statute barred. Ignore all further letters, telephone calls etc and don't be afraid to write shirty letters accusing them of harassment if they continue to bother you.

    Good. :)

Believe me. These companies or the defunct debts they chase are nothing to lose good sleep over.

  • I've received a letter today too from Transcom saying i owe them/ their client Arrow Global Guernsey LTD £787.33 ... I dont have a clue as to what there on about. I do not owe anyone anything and i'm not even wasting my time contacting them.

They seem to be very busy this July !

On my phone so will come back later and read everyones posts and what I should do but just wanted to add that I got the same letter today saying I owe £334.70, my credit checks show as nothing like this owed. Funny lots of people all getting letters from the same company.

since my first post.... i have checked my credit file and there is nothing listed. i sent them a letter status barred..today ive received another letter.

please note that out client arrow purchased the debt from littlewoods, arrow now legally owns all rights to seek recovery of this debt and we are legitimately instructed on their behalf. however, we have queried this account with out clients and have requested copy statements to show how the balance has arisen and awaiting their response. 3 letters within a week from them!!
