MSE_Forum_Manager wrote: »Hi Folks,
We've been having a chat about this this morning and have an idea. Firstly, here's some information for context and rationale:
For every new element we introduce, it places additional load on our database. It's by no means a big problem, but naturally to keep forum speed and efficiency we try and be as clever with the amount of times we need to do this as possible.
For the purposes of what we're discussing here - to expand enter to three options, "enter", "skip" and "not interested" gives us three times the current hit.
This is our proposed solution : Rather than giving the buttons names, why dont we just give you a tick and a cross (or appropriate opposing colours or symbols) which you can then use as you see fit.
You can call them "yes / no" "enter / skip" "enter / dont care" or whatever works for you personally.
This, hopefully, gives you a usable system that makes comping much easier, whilst helping us keep the strain on our server and database as low as possible.
Would this seem a fair compromise to all?
This sounds like a great compromise.2019 Wins

I absolutely detest the new tick button for enter.
I find it makes me hit the Spam button accidentally far more frequently, or I just forget to use it.
Please can we have the old Enter button back.42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot:hello: Good Luck everyone !:hello:0 -
I think it's a great idea and needs to be done. Not only do we keep going back to the same ones we weren't interested in, but some competitions we accidently over look as we think it's the same but it's not, it's just same prize, diff website/question.
It would save a lot of hassle.
When would this start up? I also do searches to enter comps of a certain month so it would help as my memory doesn't stretch too far back lol. Thank you to everyone!

I admit the new green enter tick meant that I thought I had already ticked it lol. I guess it's something we just get used to, not many people like change (me included lol), but overall it's a good idea! Thank you to everyone!

i'm finding the new enter button lots easier to distinguish from the last enter button & much better/clearer to use :j
with it being a different colour & just the tick (as opposed to when it looked the same as the spam button)
thanks team :j:Tplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
Hi all,
I appreciate the new tick icon looks a little lonely right now. The other half - the cross - will arrive in a little while. Thank you for your patience.

Any plans to make the new buttons a little bit bigger?0
