  • Thank you Ian, I will give that a go :)

I use Chrome. I think I used to use IE so perhaps that is why it was different before :)

Whoop first time to using skip X button today :j:j

It do show up on OP's posts but I do not see any skip icon on the list after refresh the page?

However it do show up in the list under advanced search.

And to be familiar with the new buttons, I still felt it need bigger width as spam and report buttons are bigger but I almost never use them at all.
What do anyone think of new button size?

    Thanks for nice buttons :p

Coming in late, as ever, but for what it's worth ...

I always used the ENTER (now tick) button to mark my place so I knew I'd seen a comp whether I entered it or not. If I entered, I always thanked the OP as well, again to mark my place (like in the Puzzler and TaB puzzle regular threads).

I've just done a quick test of the SKIP (red cross) And I think it's great. And I think the cross is good because it matches the tick and doesn't take up more room than necessary.

Hope that helps. Good work, as ever.

Now, can we have a thumbs up smiley too, please? Ta. :D

hi, i'm loving the new skip button & enter button :j
tbh think the size is just right 'cause if they were any bigger think they'd sort of make the bottom line seem to big with all big ones iyswim :o am finding them easier to use as they stand out for me on the pages with the colours & not looking the same as the others with the blue bubble round them, i just press F5 to refresh & the tick/cross show straightway for me,
hope that makes sense :) just mhumble op :o

Thank you but I still find enter & skip buttons are bit too small.:o (I do not mean make it into another blue bubbles), Yes stay on their colour but just stretch the button in width to make them slight bigger:)
(like as before introduce skip button here, the green enter button was perfect size till it crop down to make room for the skip button, instead of move other buttons sideway and put new skip button in, leave the green button alone in same size)

I did refresh, clean cookies and cache, skip icons are not show up in the list, next to date/time under basic search MSE (that is top right corner of this website)

All I can manage to see the skip icons are in individual cp's posts and the list under advanced search,
but not in the basic search list, where I can see enter icons only why???:(

    Hello,

can we get the Red X button to show up in the Regular Competitions sub forum as well please? The green tick is there, but no Red X.

I go through it every few weeks and am forever reopening comps I am not interested in entering. So would be really handy to be able to hit the X.

    many thanks, xxx
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

    Done.

  • Hi again,

Conceptually, is this the sort of thing you're after:

    skip.gif

Would you then prefer a "X" in the board list as suggested (like the tick for enter), or something that matched this button more, i.e. the "skipped" symbol ">|"?

We'd naturally provide an "unskip" alternate in case you change your mind.

Can I sound like a complete donk for a minute & ask where the skip button would be & what would it do ?
    :embarasse
  • It's in the competitions forum and mostly people use it to mean 'not interested' in a competition ... so they don't keep opening threads that contain competitions they are not interested in entering :)
