Have to agree with post #34 cornishpasty. A skip for something you don't want to/can't enter right away and a big red X for anything you aren't going to enter (FB comps for example for those of us who don't have it)
  • Could we also have a "like" or "agree" button to save many of the comments. Even on the straightforward competition page there is occasionally a discussion about answers or even a humorous comment or two. Its inappropriate to use the thankyou button all the time and so the only alternative is to bump the post by agreeing with people.
ps I am always hitting the spam button by mistake and then retracting it immediatly - I thought I was the only one/

The current system works for me but extra buttons will make the system more flexible so we can all find ways that suit us.

What I woul really like is to be able to tick, or select whatever other buttons are added without opening the post.

Often, I can tell there are competitions that I don't want to enter (eg if it is a prize I won't use). A quick tick or cross without opening the post would save me time and also reduce the resources used by the board.

I will be happy with whatever we end up with as I appreciate all the hard work that is put in by so many people on this board.

    Thanks

X is there now, but doesn't show on the outside of the comp (main page) the way the tick for entered does. I thought that that was the main point of having it, so that we could see it without opening the comp thread.

    Edit: Working now.

    :hello: Good Luck everyone !:hello:
  • The change is completed. Everything should be working ok. Any problems let me know.

I LOVE the new 'X' button next to the tick. My only problem is, and I'm not sure if MSE can help with this, is that I tend to enter a comp and then press 'Back' to get to the page I was on before (The list of comps), but it doesn't show up any of the ticks and crosses I have put down unless I refresh each time.

I'm sure it used to work with the enter button a few months back.

Am I doing something wrong? Does this make sense? Can you help or do anything about this?
    :D
    Thanks in advance xxx

Yes I believed I faced same sitution where I do not need to refresh in the past, but now had to do it to double check on the list.

By the way, red X is brilliant, not that X Factor, I refer to the X button :D

I wonder if it is possible to increase "tick" green button into bigger size, maybe double ( I mean in width, not height), to make it easier to click upon rather than spend too much careful which buttons to click upon every time??
Thank you for keep revamp the forum update :T:T

I'm afraid we have no control over how the back button works. That particular button belongs to your browser and it's very protective of it. But what you can do is this.

Instead of clicking "Back" to return to the competitions time forum, click the "Competitions Time" link in the breadcrumb trail at the top of the screen instead. The breadcrumb trail is the bit that looks like this:

Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Bargain Buys, Sassy Shopping & Fantastic Freeb... > Competitions Time > Thread title

This will take you back to the Competitions Time forum page and also reload.
