Sounds scary. What sort of price range is she looking at?

More than we can afford - £350k to £425k. We live in an expensive area. All a bit of a pipe dream really.

Well, dreaming's free. You'd better hope the houses she's looking at give her some great ideas for making your house nicer without spending much on it. (Well, you can but hope, anyway. ;))

It really seems unfair, sometimes. People post on here about houses they're looking at, and some of them live in areas so much cheaper than mine that I can only drool over the prices. Still, I choose to live in this part of the country, so I can't complain, really. Let us know what happens to your mortgage app.

It's frustrating because we'd love a house with a bigger garden for the kids, better parking and quieter, but we can't afford it.

Thanks for your replies - much appreciated :)

My pleasure! I appreciate your replies on my diary too.

Here's hoping you can get that FD mortgage in the bag, so you'll be getting towards that nicer house £68pm faster! :)

Not a bad day - curtain pole and curtains up in my Daughters room, just a couple of little jobs to do in there now and then just needs carpeting.

Had a nice afternoon at mother in laws, Easter egg hunt that my son loved and a very nice lamb dinner.

Wonder if the tip is open tomorrow, could do with going!!

Ours opens on bank holidays but only in the mornings - which is what it usually does on Sundays.

Sounds like you had a good day yesterday.

Our local tip is open today (all day Sunday hours) and I am staying away as the Bank Holiday is the busiest time of the year and you end up queuing for an hour to get in!

Mission for April - Keep all current accounts in the black and avoid OD charges, just moved some money about to give me some breathing space, made a cheeky OP, now time for bed - have a meeting at 8. The 6:18 train has a seat for me in less than 6 hours ****!
