Well I've had a very thrifty weekend -spent £4 to get into soft play - both kids expended a lot of energy, probably the best £4 I've spent for a long time.

Just hope Mrs QBW hasn't spent too much, I'm sure she hasn't, can't wait for her to get home :blushing:

The usual mid-month lull - 9 days until pay day and my regular OP. :(

I'm looking to sell some shares, still haven't bought a car yet and need some cash, so been glued to the share price for the last two weeks, I never know when is the right time to sell...

I think the thought of spending some of my hard earned/saved cash on a car is also unsettling me. :( The only part that makes me happy is that whatever is left I'm going to OP. :)

In other money news still no sign of letter from HMRC so mortgage application is stalled.:)

Also Mrs QBW will be losing her maternity pay very soon, so we'll need to review our finances again, she's very frugal tbh but we need to think about a few things.

Looking forwards to holiday in May and pay rise (2.5%) and bonus in June. :T

I've sold the shares, they reached a point I was happy with - now got the cash to buy a car

Golf, A3 or 1 Series are the options, just need to find the right one at the right price.

Great news about the shares. I'd like a Golf . . . maybe when the mortgage is paid :rotfl:.

On the way to work after a really great weekend, packed loads in, test drove a couple of cars, went to a birthday party, went swimming, watched my niece play football in their cup final, had a night out with mates, went to in laws for a roast.

Did nothing round the house though.

Spent a bit of money but not too much, but more than the £2 I have in my main current account, have had to raid other accounts. Still 4 days to go until pay day and on track to keep all accounts in the black.

First pay day of the new financial year tomorrow, just had wage slip and I'm £6 a month down - rob dogs.

They're not using the money to send my PAYE coding notice that I requested 12 days ago, that's for sure  will have to ring again tomorrow.

The hunt for a new car is turning into a farce, every time I ring about one at a decent price it's either sold or in the process of being sold.

Need to hold on for a little longer and keep looking....

Rang HMRC about the missing letter and a recorded message told me not to bother ringing again until 14 working days have elapsed since the first letter

Nothing else to report on the money front, May is going to be quite tight from a money POV

I know this is going to sound contradictory but also trying to find a low cost week in the sun.

I feel like a bad MFW at the moment!!!:(

I felt similar about buying my 2yr old 'new' car, thinking I could have gone cheaper and OP'd the cash. However, being MF is about managing your lifestyle to make the right personal and prudent balance.

By buying the car I did, I am saving on running costs and I know it will be reliable which relieves me of stress and anxiety. I also get to enjoy driving it which is important when we all work so hard.

I think our decisions are different to dfw ones, so don't feel too bad :)
