Back from second trip to Ikea in five days. The place was heaving because its the school holidays here but I'd promised DD an afternoon tea there so we stayed. It was an early treat for her birthday but afterwards I was quite pleased we stayed, she decided that since she wasn't going to be 11 for another two days she could join in the children's activities. She made a cushion cover and decorated a box file and then did the treasure hunt...activities were free and you got a free ice cream as prize for completing the treasure hunt. Then we went and bought the four underbed drawers I'd gone in for and used a £5 off £30 voucher they'd sent me...all in all it was a pretty good afternoon of activities for a wet school holiday day, and reasonably money saving to boot. And I've still got a box of cakes left over from the afternoon tea, eight cakes between two people is a bit much even for me!
ETA: I think all our UK Ikeas are having some sort of celebratory events atm, it's their 25th anniversary of opening in the UK.Val.0 -
omg I was just flicking through the channels and qvc is showing food. lol, 4 pork pie sized pies, made from puff pastry and half filled with potato selling at a total of £26
I`m leaving it on just so I can have a laugh
5.3 kg meat (not even organic) for £70
8 x 35g flavoured popcorn for £16.40
I can`t believe that people actually buy this stuff, must have more money or credit cards than sense :eek:0 -
Ah I wondered why it was so busy yesterday VS - our schools were off last week and I didn't know what was going on.0

Surely they'd make more money if they were selling discounted food...there's a thought...why doesn't someone start a channel selling food and goods at discount even overnight on ITV in those slots that various companies like QVC are allowed to use..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
