    What's bouillon Possession?

Lyn I'm going to try meatloaf, thank you. :)

It's stock, but instead of a cube it's in a paste (my preference) or sometimes a powder - eg Delia's favourite was Marigold vegetable bouillon. However using a couple of stock cubes would be fine!
Lyn I fancy trying your meatloaf in the slow cooker but my children have disliked meatloaf before so it's a risky move!

Sharing with you all that I'm going to try this out tomorrow for breakfasts.

    Baked Oatmeal

    IMG_7215.JPG

    Ingredients
    2 cups rolled oats
    1/3 cup brown sugar
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 cup walnut pieces
    1 cup raspberries {any berries work}
    1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
    2 cups milk
    1 large egg
    3 tablespoons butter, melted
    1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 ripe banana, peeled, 1/2-inch slices

In a large bowl, mix together the oats, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, half the walnuts, half the strawberries and half the chocolate. (Save the other half of strawberries, walnuts and chocolate for the top of the oatmeal).
In another large bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, butter and vanilla extract.

Add the oat mixture to prepared baking dish. Arrange the remaining strawberries, walnuts and chocolate on top. Add the banana slices to the top then pour the milk mixture over everything. Gently shake the baking dish to help the milk mixture go throughout the oats.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until the top is nicely golden brown and the milk mixture has set. For an extra tasty top, sprinkle a tablespoon or so of extra brown sugar.

(I presume cook at 180) for 35-40 mins.

I'm leaving out the walnuts as don't have any.

  • POSESSION - You could try calling it something else like Hot Pate, or make a pastry outside for it and call in pate en croute. I like the idea Fuddle shows of making individual meat cakes in bun tins. If you wanted to make them laugh you could cook pastry discs separately and call it deconstructed meat pie! You really can mix any flavouring ingredients, you could make it curry, chilli or even pizza flavoured might make a difference! Good Luck, Cheers Lyn x.

FUDDLE - the oatmeal looks yummy! well found! L x.

Thanks for the Hoover advice guys. Am loathe to spend money on spare parts as it only cost £30 odd 18 months ago. I'm rather brutal with vacuums they never last long.

DD1 and her three friends finished college early today and went off into the city centre to play (photography students, all female and 16/18 so they just approach nice looking lads and snap away - bless them). They found a busker who they liked the look of, popped a message on a bit of paper into his pot along with £1 and then set up their cameras in a nearby shop to see his reaction....the note told him they thought he was "cute". I think they made his day! :T

I casserole liver and bacon, cut to chunky lengths, chuck in with onions, gravy seasoning turn on slow Cooker and abandon for the day. Freezes OK too either cooked or uncooked. I find the best way of cooking raw liver from frozen is to poach it in onion gravy from frozen , make the gravy thin though as the cooking process thickens it up. I ended up with stodgy gloop once!

  • Fuddle that looks lovely will you let us know how it turns out?
Mar I make liver and bacon in a frying pan in about 10 minutes - fry onions and bacon first, then add liver and mushrooms. It's lovely with mashed tatties and veggies

Re hoover repair, Duck tape, the stickiest and NOT cheapest you can find. Also known as bodge tape in our house, we have mended motor bikes with it and cable ties, stunning stuff. Wrap it round starting about 1width above injury and going 1width below injury overlapping by 1/3 of width on each rotation.

If that makes sense I am amazed.

He he, yes it does make sense. I use stuff called 'gorilla tape' gets it on the interwebs, but don't try to remove it. It has the dried weeterbix on carpet factor.
