Yes Lyn I like the idea of the meatloaf patties as well. I'll have a think how I can disguise it. They're pretty good, not too fussy, but I know I'll meet some resistance as they have disliked it before.
Well who'd have thought John was going to win GBBO?! I'm really pleased though as he was the one who wanted to make it his career. And James's showstopper cakes were pretty poor.

Mar - my understanding was that liver needs to be cooked very quickly or it goes tough, I could be making that up entirely of course the way my head is feeling at the moment.

I may have all backwards as well as I don't like liver that much, but I think lambs liver needs to be done fast and beef liver needs a long slow in gravy session.

    Kidcat I'm sorry. : (

I thought liver needed to be either quickly seared or slowly poached. Here's a liver thread, opinions seem mixed.

Found this...interesting but most of it doesn't apply to me but I wonder if it does anyone else on here that are living an OS live often not through choice...

    http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/graphic-where-your-money-goes.html

Found some new meals in Tesco's for £1(part of their everyday range)but some ready meals too(normally £1.75)Two for £3 including items like Chicken and Leek Pie, Lamb Hotpot, Chicken casserole etc...looked a little better quality wise...

As I spend approx 75p to £1.50 on food daily are these reasonable value if you take into account that even if you make your own meals initially you'd probably have to buy quite a few incredients and then portion them out is this any less expensive? You don't need to have them every day.

Perhaps it could be if in a family situation perhaps not but if you are single...also though you may pay a little more for the meal but if it can be cooked in a microwave for 5-10mins you are saving money by avoiding using a main oven.

    Any opinions/views?

No dont worry possession, it gives me time to adjust DS14 to idea that his favourite (Brendan ) may not win - I have been know to watch the end of a program so that I can spend the whole thing preparing him that his one didnt win, X Factor last year being the most memorable one - he hated the winning act and I knew he would go crazy.
Had to read end of Harry Potter too just to be ready for when he found that out - in case Harry died. :D I live a very sad life really watching programs in reverse :rotfl:

I've never made or tried a meat loaf Lyn... again, I'm intrigued. Off I go to investigate in a minute.

And I have news. The LL is having someone fix my toilet on Friday. I'm over the moon!

Great news about the repair...I had meatloaf once and it was rather nice...talking at least 40+years ago. Not sure it is worth doing for one. Then again I could do small individual one's or perhaps freeze some...

    Thanks for the recipe Lynn...;)

Like the Oat bake Fuddle:)When you are alone it is sometimes easy not to try something.
