Sorry to hear that PAH, sending calm green vibes to you!
The curtains have jsut been washed GQ and still look grey - it might be the new windows doing it. I will look for Glo White today in Asda. ty.
Fuddle, I'm a nurse, but the first (and only) time my youngest son had a panic attack I called 999 because I thought it was either bad asthma or a heart attack! His pulse was too light and fast to find, and he was semi conscious, it was horrible.
I'm on Pinterest as Mouseworks but I've never thought of looking at food...do they have SWEETIES?
No time to sit and yakk just now, I'm off to the dizzy excitements of paved streets and real people... bank, Costco, Asda. Then back home thank god to my own wee world of the nosy sheep looking over the fence, and the blackie who dive-bombs the ginger cat to mug him for his dinner
I did say in my other thread, "be careful how many washing products you buy cos it adds up"........
I expect you could have bought at least one new net curtain with what you have spent so far on trying to get them white.......My mum use to say back in the 60 s "wash them every month to keep them white", but then they only last 6 or 7 months and you have to throw, you get a terrible grey bit where you have the windows open , I hate dingy grey nets............Unless theres a miracle cure in the store thats worth trying........:)0 -

Bad, bad, bad Possession. Just nipped in while having my lunch (starting diet I'll have you know) to find the most beautiful sweetie type stuff.
I'll have another mug of my diet onion soup now and sulk.
Sorry, was so taken with the sweetiies I forgot to add my sympathetic thoughts to those who are poorly/struggling.
I do care, it was Possession's fault0 -
Nah shegar I'm too mean - the Glo White cost £1.20 and that's as far as I'm going
I'm going to have a plate of my home made wartime veg soup and I'll sulk too. We could do synchronised sulking

You rotten ungrateful lot
Poor Possession I bet we've all drooled over each and every one. :rotfl:
I think i'll wait for my toilet to be fixed before I ask the LL anything. I understand why I have to get permission, it's just a bit frustrating.
My multivits are supermarket own brand, as are the girls'. We've been taking them since the spring and they haven't 'worked' at all really. The first bought and we all get something.
One good thing - my £1.59 ebay log fire DVD has arrived
Alfie - he was sick twice in the early hours. I came downstairs as had bad chest. DH let him out at 7am where he wouldn't come in because he was eating grass. 30 mins later he sicked that up. He had 5 goes of eating his breakfast in the space of an hour and even that was half what he normally wolfs down. He had brought that back up when I got home.
He's booked into vets on Saturday for his yearly boosters (what are they?:rotfl: and how much is it likely to cost  ) So at least if it continues he'll get to see vet 5 days. He's fast a kip right now, somehow under the fleece blanket
Friend - maybe so, maybe she knows she can't show off to me so.....? I dunno, best off away from it all. I'm sticking with the 40+ mam's. I like maturity.0 -
I don't think I qualify for the flu jab. Can you get it private?
Mar really interesting about the panic attack flummoxing you. I suppose when you say you're having difficulty breathing they have to er on the side of caution.
Re mentol in steam water. I have Vicks chest rub, would that do the same thing either on my chest or melted in the water.
Mar you're in bother from me by the way. Now Possession is searching for sweeties on Pinterest which means on my front page is ooodles of sweet delights... I'm trying to diet! :rotfl:
Thank you for the well wishes. I have DD off sick with a cold and a dog that has been sick 3 times (bile) and won't eat his breakfast.
Hope DD feels better, soon. My OH has just text to say he feels rough tooI promise that I will do my best.....0 -
I know, I'm very naughty, am just about to stick forks in my legs. It's all in the name of research though, as I'm deciding what to make for my christmas hampers. So actually I might sulk too since even when I make them I won't be eating them. Although I might have to try one of each just in case it's poisonous or something.
DH forced me back to the doctor this morning as the cough is still very much in evidence and I came back laden with a big bag of medicine. What joy. Have put sweet and sour pork in the slow cooker as Monday is a busy night for children's activities so at least it will all be ready. Might make marmalade today if I get a chance.0 -

I'm going to make you all hungry now SORRY - we've just been to our lovely local farm shop which has locally grown produce at sensible prices. They sell what are called 'Cake Mistakes' and I've just purchased a big tray of Nutty Flapjack with almonds, pecans hazelnuts and honey and a tray of Caramel Shortcake weighing 690g and 790g respectively for £1 each!! They are the 1" wide edges cut from batches before packaging at the factory but still the same product. They were also selling trays of the same things but the actual trimmed product, same weight £2.99p. Both have a use by date of January 2013 , how about that for a bargain? Cheers Lyn x.0

PAH
Huge hugs, saying prayers for you. I am having a difficult time of things too with family illness. It's one of those times in life when you don't think things can get any worse.
It's good that you are being 'selfish'. It's very easy to get washed along by events and forget who you are. Make sure you take care of you, it's too important a job to leave to anyone else.0 -
Calor gas heaters - I have one of these and its brill. Really throws out some heat and they do save on the bills plus if your boiler died/broke you still have a source of heating. Also have a couple of those electric radiators as back up too. Only snag with Calor heaters is the fact you need a guard if kids or animals about, they smell a bit and they can be dangerous if not used properly (you need to have the room ventilated).
I pay about £20 for a gas bottle, probably gone up now, and it lasts for ages.I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round0
