Oh smiley - I love bats, we went to the safari park last week and they had a bat enclosure DD6 and I were in there half an hour enchanted by them, we were able to get really close to them asleep, eating and flying.
I took DD17 to a bat walk a couple of years ago and that was really good, there is one in Liverpool in a few weeks and i have promised to take DS14.0 -

Byatt, you are wonderful:cool:.
I'm sure there is a thread somewhere on HM dog treats, i'll have a look.
I was craving mince and dumplings after reading earlier...just finished a savoury veggi mince and lentil thingy in gravy with herby dumplingswas very yum, but managed to use plain instead of sr flour by accident in the dumplings. still tasty but didn't rise:o.
The girls uniforms all have labels sewn in now, so that's another job out of the way ready for next week. I'm really, really , really not looking forward to going back to work. There are so many other things I'd rather be doing...cooking, baking, allotmenting, crafting, I'd even rather be cleaning:rotfl:.still, needs must I suppose, and it is only 4 hours a day.

So tomorrow will tell hubby we are not going to Belle Vale, usual Saturday haunt but Widnes great. Thanks
Oh bat walks at Speke Hall on 8th and 15th as I am hoping to take son and grandson to one of them, was waiting for son to get back to me which Saturday we can go as grandson usually goes to his nan's on a Saturday.
Its my place in print as I was one of the archaeologists that surveyed Attics and Moat and I was mentioned as such in guide books back then. Not seen the newer books in years so don't know if still am, but still have all my notes and photos from back then, somewhere, even was shut in the priests hole(have to have some fun), they were brave guys I tell you barely room to breath. Definitely not for the claustrophobic.

lSorry about the job Kidcat, it does seem such a pointless and frustrating exercise.
I think the pop up tea room is a great plan Kate, it's something I want to do here too as the path goes right by us and it is busy a lot of the year. Just got to find a builder :mad::mad:
Done a good impression of a Blue Ar£ed Fly today, cooking for tomorrow. In midst of this we had to have gas engineer to van as the fryers are sooting up - after lots of the usual doom an gloom he proceeded to take out six burners (big metal things) and said we need ed them replaced  or someone needed to sit and poke out all the carp from the tiny gas holes. And there are hundreds. Poor OH spent a couple of hours on that and we will do more tonight - he is coming back tomorrow to put them back in, cross fingers it fixes the problem for now, but he says it will keep happening .
BTW - The Book People got the book that accompanied the Edwardian Farm for £4, and for any TV Burp fans, a book of the Knitted Character and chums patterns for a quid.
Re Post - Couple that I am cooking for tomorrow actually celebrated their 60th anniversary yesterday, and we went round for a little drink. They got a card from the Queen, and the instructions to the Post Office that came with it were amazing - she obviously does not trust her Posties!. upon receipt the head postmaster had to phone the palace's Teegraph (:rotfl:) Office before 9.30 am to confirm receipt, the envelope had to be delivered at a specific time, and if anything went wrong the Palace would institute an investigation! That's power for you!
We used to have a great service here - always came at 10am, always the same Postie who knew everyone and knew exactly what to do if you were not in to take something. Then we got a letter from our regional manager - based in Portsmouth I think (we are in West Wales!) telling us everything would change so that they could give us a better service ho ho - you can guess the derision heaped on that by the denizons of the village. Now we never know when it might come, parcels get sent back rather than left and everyone is generally peed off with it. Progress my blue bum!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
The mushy peas are still 4p in my Tes$co and also Tetley soft bags of tea bags, 240, are half price.
Thanks Meme and Lisa...sometimes I feel invisible in my life.0 -
Mrs Chip DH's grandparents have never had anything from the queen, and this is their 71st anniversary! I think you must have to request it, unless the Queen has powers of omnipotence.
Kidcat sorry about the job. : ( It's a stupid stupid thing to waste everybody's time that way.
DH has just had a call re. his interview today and they want to interview him again - they really liked him but they have reservations about whether he would commit as the salary is quite a bit less. It's a shame you can't say "Look, I'll just be grateful to have a job!" Doesn't sound very professional though. It's very local so I've told him to add up all train fares and parking fees per year for commuting to Brum and see how much it would be as he can put that forward in interview as an argument as to why he would accept less. Ironic really as of course it isn't less, he isn't earning anything at all at the moment0 -
Bother spiky, paperless is the exact reason why I won't be able to find more bills. It took all my time to find my water board statement last night. All the rest are paperless. All I can do is take screen shots of my bills online and email them to myself to access at school just in case.
I'll keep you posted GQ, you know me, don't worry about that:rotfl:
That's a great idea! I'll suggest it to people struggling next time to find enough ID evidence. I've got a mum at work who wants to volunteer regularly, but has no ID she says, as even the CB is paid into her BF's account (managed to to shout 'What!? Get yourself a bank account now, girl!', but politely suggest it's a good idea to get some things in her name.)I got it popsShropshire lass my pinny has lots of little knives and forks on it
Yay! We knew you could do itand loving the sound of the pinny!

This is the thread I made last year while asking for help in doing it - hard now to believe there was a time I didn't spend huge amounts of time on MSE!0
