I think the family told the Palace Possession, they had to send a copy of the marriage cert.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

The mushy peas are still 4p in my Tes$co and also Tetley soft bags of tea bags, 240, are half price.
Thanks Meme and Lisa...sometimes I feel invisible in my life.
Possession, good luck to Mr P for the interview.
Kidkat I do feel cross for you and for everybody (been there and got the tee shirt) who goes for job interviews when it's clearly a paper exercise and the candidate has already been selected. The emotional wear-and-tear on the applicants, and the expenses of getting to, and dressing for, the interview all take their toll at a time when people are vulnerable.I've thought many a time that wasting job applicants' time ought to be up there with wasting the Police's time.:(
It's almost dark outside now which is quite ridiculous. I have spent some time taking stuff to my Gift-Aided c.s. this afternoon. Hoping for better weather tomorrow as want to do a little on the lottie. I'm very limited in the amounts and types of physical labour I can do due to the ME so even if I have all day on paper there will only be 1-2 hours juice, with rest breaks in between.
I think I shall have to go for something with easy gains as I need to keep my gardening morale up; probably take down the earliest batch of broadband beans which have all been harvested and are down to dry sticks now.
I read somewhere that you can start them again and overwinter them so might just do that in the ex-potato patch. They'll grow a few inches tall then sit dormant once the daylight has lessened. Remarkable things, BB beans. I've seen them overwinter with little hats of snow on them and they came thru just fine.
Fuddle, I like your new avatar even better than your old one, which was so much brighter that the person under the cloud. I'm ashamed to say I'd never read your blog (was meaning to, but there's never enough hours in the day..........) so don't know what was said but I can't imagine for a moment that it was justified. You're good people, hold on to that thought.
Right, going to bobble around a bit but will be having an early night as can barely keep my eyes open............:)Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

So tomorrow will tell hubby we are not going to Belle Vale, usual Saturday haunt but Widnes great. Thanks
Oh bat walks at Speke Hall on 8th and 15th as I am hoping to take son and grandson to one of them, was waiting for son to get back to me which Saturday we can go as grandson usually goes to his nan's on a Saturday.
Its my place in print as I was one of the archaeologists that surveyed Attics and Moat and I was mentioned as such in guide books back then. Not seen the newer books in years so don't know if still am, but still have all my notes and photos from back then, somewhere, even was shut in the priests hole(have to have some fun), they were brave guys I tell you barely room to breath. Definitely not for the claustrophobic.
Hugs and Love to all xxx
Its right by Mr M, in the centre.
Thats the bat walk I am going to take DS to, I love Speke Hall and usually take the kids but its hard as DS8 always races about, there are a few national trust places I would really like to wander about at leisure, so OH have agreed that once kids are all settled into school or whatever we will make it a thing to visit at least one a month.
My parents gift us a family ticket to national trust every year and I really do try to use it as much as possible. DS14 really loves history and whilst he is not going to formal school I am intending making it a project for him, will choose one property (likely to be speke hall) and then get him to research the house, from build methods, history of the house, the family, the grounds and the area.
He can then present it in booklet form and a power point presentation. Then he can do some drawings for Art and I was also thinking of him making a scale model too.
I reckon theres a few weeks work there and covers alot of subjects , keep him busy and occupied.0 -
Byatt - you're far from invisible, I love your posts.
I've had one of those days that I wish I could bottle and save forever. Just simple things, woke up when the sun rose but was awake after a good nights sleep. Did some exercise before breakfast in the garden with all my kittens and cats out enjoying the sunshine around me. DDs have been a pleasure and I spent all afternoon picking black and elder berries with DD2, she's turning into such a gorgeous young lady and we chatted ourselves silly. She asked me to speak to her friends mum about a situation she can see developing, I'm so proud of her for speaking to me about it, it involves drugs and she could have just turned a blind eye but she felt able to talk to me about it.
Got enough elderberries for two demijohns worth of wine and enough blackberries to mix with some apples donated via free cycle to make two demijohns of that. Also going to make some apple chilli jam, we've just finished last years batch.
Last nights chat rubbed me up the wrong way, the same as it did for many other posters, I'm glad things were said, they needed to be.
oh and tea bags......up to 29p in our Mr S from 24p last week.....I got 10 boxes(yaaboo sucks to anyone who doesn't agree with stock piling food, it's a better return than any bank account can offer me)

Fuddle Just wanted to say I ADORE your new avatar, where is it from, if you don't mind me asking? I'm another one interested in the 1940's/second world war home front0

I searched for housewife on Pinterest. If you don't mind a bit 'oooopsey daisy lady' cheeky 1940's housewife kind of thing search for Gil Elvgren. Actually, scared because they're a bit rude :eek:0

 And the blasted shoes hurt my feet.............
Try putting a plastic bag full of water in each of your shoes, push well down so they 'fill' the shoe, secure the bags in place with thick rubber bands and put them in freezer overnight.
As the water expands, it gently and evenly stretches the shoe - may have to repeat the process a few times if they are really tight.:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

I will see if I can find my info then, well I have got to clear and sort study and this is a good reason to do so, just storing food up there wasn' t I have just been clearing an area and dumping stuff elsewhere in room. Problem is nothing left in there to give away except books and there are 1000's of them, am sure they are breading in the dark corners as I keep finding books I would swear I never bought, although all interesting though :rotfl:
If I can find it you can borrow it, it just might contain some info not out there, I know not everything was put in guide books. I did same with DS2 as home schooled him right through degree and afterwards and he was with me during the months at Speke Hall.
Will see what I can find, nothing is up to date as from early 1990s but then when we surveyed attic area that was nearer to original time than now. I don't know if they have done anything to it, I know they started tours but we did surveys before that so was more original as no way could they have done tours without some changes, far to dangerous for public - we were ok we had our yellow hats, that was deemed then more than enough safety equiptment :rotfl:
Thanks for info about tJs told hubby and he said just tell him tomorrow what direction to point car in - so long as he is not expected to walk round he doesn't care, one car park is like another when you are sitting in car reading.

Just received an email from Ovo, my energy supplier, to say they want to put my direct debit up by £17/month! Well yah boo, I switched to a cheaper supplier yesterday, so they can go and whistle! I know my direct debit will have to go up a little bit, but not by that much.
In further depressing news, I've just been working out how much extra I will have to find if I am unemployed again next summer. With the bedroom tax and council tax I will have to find an extra £62/month out of any JSA I get. Plus of course there'll be all the other rises in food and insurance. I am trying not to think about it, but needless to say every penny of my wages until then will be jealously hoarded and not spent on unnecessary things. I am looking for another job as, although I love the notetaking, lurching from one unknown monthly wage to another is starting to take its toll after six years. It's time to look for something more stable, and maybe just keep a couple of hours of notetaking on the go just to keep my hand in, and as a back up.
Byatt, I think you're wonderful too. So there!
