PAH its not just me then thats sick of the Post Office  So far in the last 3 months 1. large envelope of Aida lost on its way to me, kind seller replaced it for free. 2. parcel of gifts to a fellow blogger, lost in space. 3. Letter to Natwest H.O returned to us - no longer at that address, cocked up our bank account to the tune of £450, luckily bank saw sense and cancelled charges and paid amount. 5. Letter off Mum posted Tuesday from 25 miles away - disappeared  I now pay for recorded delivery on everything thus making them more flipping cash.

peony, my friend has Fibro and when the fog falls she talks a mix of English, gibberish and affrikans - interesting and luckily she laughs about it. She regularly forgets the name of appliances and asks her OH to put the milk in the washer but he is tuned in now and just does the right thing so she doesnt get upset, bless them both :)

Katieowl, I do hope your job doesnt go, but the cake selling sounds good as does the tea shop, you surely have the things you need as the B&B is a business already. Very enterprising. All we have round here are African barbers and hairdressers - at least 10 in 2 mile radius, takeaways and supermarkets. We have the curry mile not far away, think we should be the Curry goat mile - and Im not being prejudiced its quite interesting meeting all these new people though a little overcrowded in dentists and doctors. Lots of new churches too, I love hearing them singing on Sunday mornings when coming home from Dd's

I would comment on your Atos facts as I can see how they have ruined lives personally but my feelings are a little to raw regarding my Oh's treatment along with the DWP and from accompanying a good friend with mental health problems earlier this year to his Atos interview. I just hope the facts and figures come out for all to see soon. Mardatha is right its time everyone stood up and were counted, we need to keep strong against the future cuts and mis - use of power in this country. Sorry to rant but Im still picking up the pieces here.

I've finally taken delivery of the airlock for the home made wine. That means it's been sat for four days with tin foil over the top. I guess it's ruined. I shall syphon, bottle and try a little glass tonight.

Going to put my foraged blackberries to good wine making use later on.

Also DH wants to store the dog food in the understairs cupboard as he has concerns the mice will nibble through as they hole up in the garage as it gets colder. That means I have to transfer my store cupboard stocks in the big cupboard upstairs. I'm actually quite relieved as it's walk in, with shelving throughout.

Not at all in the mood for anything other than nice jobs today. Evening meal consists of mince (lentils) and dumplings, side of carrots and mashed potato (instant)

Ginnyknit, did you make the 5 min bread?

Peony40 my heart goes out to you, being a fellow fibro sufferer I understand totally about fibro fog, drives you nuts and can be scary - dr thought at first I had early on-set dementia but thankfully no and it does clear after a while and I get my mind back, but horrible while its happening and you know your mind should be working better, that you should not be looking at something right in front of you and not know the name for, I personally find that the worst thing, am forever saying to hubby what is that thing called, pointing to it, he is used to me doing so now.

Hope you start feeling a bit more clear headed soon

    Hugs and Love to youxxxx

Thank you for your kind words. It can be embarrassing when you open your mouth and talk gibberish; my last job that I had to give up due to the fibro I was on front desk; once I was speaking with a manager and goodness know what I spouted as he started laughing and asked me to repeat it, but the trouble was that I didn't have a clue what I had said, I just hope it wasn't anything rude!!

Also have terrible trouble with writing down things correctly, saying one letter aloud but then writing another down!

Really feel for everyone who is affected by all the changes that are coming in.

Trying to work out what to do for tea tonight, something quick and easy, thinking of maybe doing bacon/potato/onion bake.

Need to go and get on with some tidying up so it looks a little more decent for when DH gets home.

Do you know fuddle that mince and dumplings ( with lentils) sounds just the thing for tonight mmmm Started off by waking up to bright sunshine this morning at 7am but its gone downhill from there, even then air had a chill in it and now I am thinking got to put something on my feet as they are freezing and maybe close a window, hate doing that I do like fresh air getting in and I loathe anything on my feet but at this rate heating will kick in (set on 18c all the time)

Off to dig some mince out of freezer and also some of the veg suet mix I got from AF- I did not pay attention to weights and ended up with two massive sacks so put them in the freezer to keep as will take the two of us a few years to get through it all.

    Hugs and Love to allxxx

Gulp went to bed early and lots of chat..........Fuddle please don't let anything said put you off blogging, just delete the posts and carry on. If this doesn't sound to patronising can I say how proud I am of you, you are standing on your own two feet, working and paying your own way. Many out there could learn from you. I do mean that in the nicest of way I am proud to know you. No one should be hounding you because of your past, you held your hands up, admitted you got things wrong and that should be it over. Forget the nasty comments and whoever made them, they are not worth getting upset over. You just stand proud of what you are achieving now ((((Fuddle)))

Sunshine I agree just send a card(you are the better person) and forget the wedding, she had no right booking a room for you without consulting you first. Its the embarrassment of having to cancel it (and most probably more than one) that will be getting her, not you not going.

That reminds me hubby and I have an evening do to go to for one of his bowls team on 14th Sept. Thankfully I have the red velvet Laura Ashley dress I bought in CS in Jan, I knew it would come in handy sometime and was only £8 but looks like new, so that is outfit sorted, have booked hairdresser, just must remember to budget for it, but luckily hubby gets paid that day. Need to check hubbys clothes out, he can just wear his one and only suit, but will get him to try it on to check all ok. My hubby hates with a passion smart clothing, hence only one suit and about 4 shirts and a few more ties as he has had them bought as presents. He is happier in polo shirts but I will not let him wear one for the evening do, he will argue and try and persude me to let him wear one (polo shirt), he always does. Honestly the boys were easier to dress for functions than him.

Still have to get a present anyone any ideas? I know nothing about them and hubby no help. I don't know if they live together already or not. What is good as a wedding present these days around what £25 does that sound ok for people we don't know and are in their 20's I think.

I think £25 is more than OK and if I could find something that was nice but reduced I would get that. I'm not sure what to suggest as a gift though, maybe towels? I know I was given some lovely towels although I told everyone not to get me anything.

BTW PAH, I got a couple of those SAD bulbs you recommended and they came today, and wow what a difference! I sent you the book of Nella, and only mention it in view of your problems with the post. Hope it gets to you. :)

I've not received 3 items from fleabay in the last month, never happened before and now 3! I'm worried they will think I'm trying it on.

Talking of blackberries, I was passing a place whilst driving and saw loads or beautiful ripe ones, but not sure if it was in a garden or part of the hedgerow! The normal hedgerow ones are just not ripening.

Pleased to inspire someone with the lowly mince and dumplings. :rotfl: It's a nice meal though i'nt it? :D

I didn't find you at all patronising pah, it was very nice of you to say. :)

I feel a bit of the autumnal misery today. Normally I'm ok in the autumn (dare I mention I actually love the autumn :o ) but somehow I just feel like I'm not going to get that nice bit of weather to lift my spirits.

Seriously think I need to look into the biobulb but saying that, the halogen oven has a gorgeously homely, cosy light when it's dark. Unfortunately I was baking my bread at 2pm last night as I couldn't sleep so I know this only too well

13.5% on the price of teabags  I was a bit tongue in sheek when I commented about the 2p rise but 13.5% Do you think some items will go up more than that? It's got to hasn't it? Has there been any ball park figures mentioned just how high prices are expect to rise?

  • Afternoon toughies, I have just caught up with reading posts from yesterday. We are all needed on this thread, it's a melding of so many different personalities, experiences and needs. No one is wrong as we all look at life from where we stand and that's only to be expected. This little band has supported each other through thick and thin, laughed and cried together and needs each other like Billy Oh!!!!! We are really like a family and families have their differences of opinion too don't they? I think it would take more than a difference of opinion to close us down. It's such a productive place this blog, and needed so much more as times do get tougher. We'll stand together won't we?

FUDDLE - I haven't been reading blogs at all but if you have been hurt by peoples unkindness and spite I'm so sorry. You of all people should be able to hold your head up and say well I always have and always will do my best, because that is the person I am. I think you're one of the feistiest little terriers I've ever come across and all you do is new to you, folks should be applauding not sniping!!!!! Lets all take a deep breath and carry on just as we do, in comradeship, support and tolerance. OK sermon over!! Lots and lots of love Lyn xxx.
