No, no idea what wood, but there are two kinds I think, I'll try and track them down! Took some pics but not uploading from my camera right now.

Fuddle - you can speed things up by downloading a P46 from gov.uk's website, complete it and ask your employer to action that - or phone the inland revenue telling them who your new employer is. If phoning the Inland Revenue you will be asked to quote your own national Insurance number and also your employers reference number - these will be on your payslip. Your new employer should have given you a P46 when you started - this also lets the Inland revenue know that you are working for them. Personally I would chase it up sooner rather than later, if it does run on until April it may be that its June/July next year before you get a refund. Depending on your employment - if you have a specific uniform or overall to wear - you may be eligible for a laundry allowance, ask them at the same time to allow for that. Hope that helps :-)

Had a lovely example of old fashioned courtesy, so rare nowadays. I placed a small order for ribbon from an online company I have used before and yesterday got a phonecall from the owner. One of the ribbons i ordered was out of stock - did I want to wait, have a different colour, or take 2 half lengths? I took the half lengths, which were 3 metres in total and I only ordered 2 metres plus she popped in a free pack of embroidery needles for my trouble - how nice in these times. :)

DGs and Oh wrapped in a blanket snoozing on the couch, alls quiet in ginny world for a little while.

Really nice ginny. It's tiny weeny acts of kindness/courtesy like that, that makes it all worthwhile.

My sister had a Saturday job as a teenager in a discount store. We're going back 15 years here but how she was treat/trained by fellow staff and customers at such an early age has left it's mark. She rarely smiles at checkout staff or says please and thank you. It's just the way she is but I find it so rude and to be honest it must be draining being that miserable. I over overcompensate by being a bit too nice - folks must think I'm a crackpot sometimes.

Thanks suzy :) Anyone else find the new gov.uk site dire? It's really hard going... clear and crisp but lacks so much information. I can't find the p46 link. It'll be there somewhere I just need to find it.

Called HMRC in the hope they could sort me out now. Nope. I have to fill in the p46. I asked could they send me one. Nope, I get it from my employer. Oh Drat, I have to deal with the council :rotfl: That's my Monday took up on hold calling County Hall.

Nowt is ever simple but at least I have learned a lesson, always insist on a p46 when starting work from not being in work.

I can't find it on the site either...but they do give a good explanation of emergency codes and such. Not sure why your employer put you on an OT code though. That means zero allowance.
  • Very quickly posting to say I heard from the community paediatrician the other day and after 3 years of waiting , have a diagnosis for DS2! They've agreed with what I said the first time we saw a paediatrician, 4 1/2 years ago, that he is on the Autistic Disorder Spectrum, and given him a specific diagnosis of Aspgerer's Syndrome. Got the letter confirming it too, so will be taking a copy to school after half term, so they can get the support they need too...

I feel like I've finally climbed onto a ledge I've been struggling for years to get onto. Now, of course, I can clearly see the mountain in front of us, but at least I know I'm not alone. (Or a crazy person who was convinced there was something wrong with her baby when really there wasn't ;) - at times it's felt like it!)

Now off to try to catch up while not doing too much typing as I've been doing too much recently and my right hand is hurting when I use it...

Spiky - ((Hugs)) having been there I understand it - but the real battle begins now - good luck.

fuddle - I use baby oil when I can be bothered on the stainless steel stuff

Had a letter this morning for DS14 schooling, its his new IEP, he has been in the school for four years and this is the first non generic IEP we have had, in fact all the others have been identical. It lists that he has severe phonological and audiological difficulties and aslo queries dyslexia - whilst I am pleased they have finally listened part on me cried out at the four years its taken me fighting to get there.

Have finished the shopping and was rather shocked to discover that Mr A and Mr T prices are now definitely rivalling Ald!, I buy sunflower spread which is now the same price in Mr T a Ald!. Our Ald! also seems to have stopped some of its own versions on things and are supplying named brands instead. Grapes very £1.39 four weeks ago they have gone up week by week and are now £1.89:eek::eek:

Possession - take it easy today, stomach bugs are so draining. :)
