Pie maker is tempting but being single and trying to avoid using the oven much...but though HM is probably nicer and more healthy I can usually buy 4 Bird's Eye Chicken and veg pies(four for £2)so that's easier...
They may cook quicker in the combi microwave because the space is smaller than a main oven, will have to learn that as I have not used the normal oven function yet.no room in the fridge/freezer at present, my pantry and cupboards are full and I have a reasonable food store of basics in the dining room...so only really have to buy bread, milk and fresh fruit and veg when needed."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Does anyone know how to get stainless steel streak free?
No matter how much I clean my bread bin and toaster it dries looking mucky.0 -
Beautiful sunny day here today but boy is it cold if you go outside. Have got 3 loads of washing on the line and another one in the machine. Still have all of the towels and bedding to do but they might have to wait until tomorrow.
Off to start the last coat of paint on the second bedroom when I have finished my tea. OH will then do the glossing and we will start to move all of the furniture back in. Will finish putting things straight tomorrow morning before I go in for an extra shift. I am really glad that I have booked Monday off as I will be able to catch up with the housework.
Butternut squash curry for tea tonight. OH likes this and does not seem to feel deprived of meat when I cook this.
Logged onto the telepone preferance service this morning but it says we are already registered, you would not think so by the amount of cold calls we get both day and night.
Fuddle HM donughts sound delish. I have only ever made them once and that was when I was at school (many years ago now)
Paintbrush is calling so had better get started.
Mrs VPI am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Just when the weather turns there is uproar around here as the new bus timetable starts and some services have been withdrawn or...the one's I use are less frequent:mad:
Then they say use public transport more or get out and do things...if the service is removed...how? Equally, less frequent isn't nice...tomorrow when I come home from Durham I may be sitting in a draughty bus station...then walking the dark streets of my town to get home...you can't win, cars are expensive to maintain but are convenient or a bus can be useful when used as/when but you lose the easiness of having your own car...:("A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Well have exciting news.... must share! I work ata bookies - not exactly the best job so have been apply for loads of jobs. And i have an interview monday for the local coop. Its a few hours a week less, but its considerably closer to home and my car should seece to be a target for everyone to try and hit. Someone kindly scraped the side last week, hot a happy bunny.
I do like my job, in some ways but there was an 'incident' of major verbal abuse in the town centre from a disgruntled customer a few weeks ago and it made me think about things. Its just not worth the hastle and what if next time its physical??
Please think of me monday morning, havent had an interview for nealry 2 and a half years.. omg im worrying already.BSC member 137

It does help pops thank you. I'll try cleaning them with glass cleaner. baby oil? I wonder if olive oil will do? I'll have a go
We have lost another bus that serves our village. We have one left now and that has had it's route cut.
I'm lucky in that I am fit and can use my legs. I never use the buses. If I were to get the bus down the hill to work each day (less than a mile but very steep along a 60mph road) It would cost me £2.20 return. £44 per month I would have to spend if my legs were poorly.
We have a coop, library, post office and chemist serving the village. We are lucky in that we don't really need to go further a field. To be fair though I never saw my grandma going anywhere other than walking to her local shops. Maybe we just expect too much? Maybe, because jobs are so far away now we have to rely on going further afield. Travelling 20 miles is acceptable these days. All about cutting cloth again I guess.0 -
We have HAIL.
I shall be rooting out my thinsulate hat from the airing cupboard before I go out today, and the gloves.
Keep warm and keep well, lovely people.
Thanks for reminding me I forgot about mine. I also have a cute hat with cat's ears.
Bl00dy cold here, but beautiful day, the wind makes it worse.
Making green tomato chutney from my own toms, never made before and don't have that many, so am winging it with the recipe, as my maths is not so good. Should be sorting through my log pile, :rotfl:but it's too cold.0 -
I've had my first payslip. I've been taxed. I thought wages under a certain amount aren't taxed? I don't hit £2000 per year.0

You are probably on an emergency code Fuddle. Once sorted you will get the tax refunded through your pay as long as it's sorted before the 5 th April. I'm not sure what the procedure is (can't remember to be honest), it used to be that the tax office sent you a form to ask what you've been doing since the 6th April 2012, so they can allocate a code. Can you ask the people who operate your pay/tax, is the council?0
