I.S for a mother and four children including chb is £388.60 a week
£65 per child plus £20.30 chb ok not quite £90 :(

Your figures are wrong, CTC is £2,690 per year or £51.73 a week for each child. CB is £20.30 for the first child only, then £13.40 for each additional child.

any ideas how much HB they would be entitled to then ??

It will vary depending on the age of the children and whether they are boys or girls, this dictates how many bedrooms the parent is entitled to, which in turn dictates the LHA rate, or how much HB could potentially be claimed in different areas.

You would need to decide how many bedrooms they are entitled to first - it could be three or four, this will vary according to the ages and sexes of the children.

Until the government put a cap on how many children they will pay benefits for.......Im afraid that teenagers and young people will carry on doing what they are doing.

No incentive to work and no incentive to stop having children.

The country cannot afford to keep on funding this indefinitely.
    Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £60

My figures for I.S for the family of four children
    £71 mother £60.50 chb £17.10 fp £260 for children

So I.S pays £65 per child and CTC £51.73
    how can this be?

When we convert cases from I.S to CTC it always works out the same.

Its not good if the ydo indeed lose so much benefit
But I have never seen this

Income Support is paid to the mother, £71 (over 25) per week until the youngest child is 5 years old.

Stating that income support pays £65 per child makes no sense. Where did you get that figure from?

Why doesnt it make sense :)

Thats the amount I.S pays for a child.
We still pay for children on claims
    http://www.focusondisability.org.uk/brates-1.html dependent children 64.99

As long as the youngest is under 5 then we continue to pay.

When they go off I.S to ESA or JSA we convert them to CTC, I have never seen a case yet where they are worse off

They will not be worse off due to transitional protection.

As a lone parent (the divorced kind), the IS payment I receive does not have an amount for dependent children, that is paid via CTC. I believe older cases used to have an amount for children and no CTC payment though.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

See the last load of posts have been full of advice as usual then.

Stop kids having sex? Yeah right! The more you tell a teenager no, the more they will say yes. The best you can do is teach them about responsibility and contraception and hope to god they have the sense to use it.

    Back to advice please.

I still reckon one of the training courses or college would be best for this teenager.
