MSE News: Ryanair and BMI Baby slap extra Spanish tax on flyersid

18.92 euro been taken from my FairFX card.....0
-
I had the email from Ryanair saying they will charge my account for the additional tax; this was about a month ago now. When (if) are they likely to charge, does anyone have any ideas?
It will only be a few pounds by the calculations0 -
I am mildly outraged to have discovered these charges (for flights already taken) only by checking my credit card statement - I have had NO communication from Ryanair about this. Their contempt for customers knows no bounds.0
-
They notified affected customers by email weeks ago. If you did not get this email the reason is a technical glitch or (more likely) some sort of spam filter on your email, not contempt.0

Checked spam, nothing there - they need to take more care with their technology and iron out "glitches"0 -

Not exactly possible is it...
Though if Ryanair taking taxes which you agreed to be liable for, and was well publicised in the general media, and their website, is showing "contempt with no bounds" - I'm not sure they could realistically do anything to satisfy you!0 -

BA chose not to charge its customers for these increased taxes
Ryanair chose to do so
One of the perils of doing business with Ryanair!0 -

Meaning the added cost will simply be passed on to other passengers. If you think BA chose to pay out of their own pocket you're kidding yourself. Not that I have any problem with that, they're a business after all but it's simply a different way of making people pay.0 -

Who owns BMI baby exactly...
BA not adding charges to BA flights has nothing to do with them respecting customers etc.! They just charge a lot more so have to hide it much more than Ryanair do!0
