Thank You for the phone call suggestion and btw she is a family of five.
I think there are a lot of people on here who do just like to complain. However, maybe they should weigh up just how many times they have actually saved money.0 -
The price hike may seem small to you, and insignificant too, but to a family of five it may just impact on the enjoyment of their holiday.
If under 10 euro between them impacts the enjoyment of a holiday for a family of 5 then maybe they shouldn't be going.
They have the option to cancel
You just seem to have a chip on your shoulder about the little things in life0 -
What gives you the right to decide what should or should not affect someones enjoyment or possibility of a holiday?budgetflyer wrote: »If under 10 euro between them impacts the enjoyment of a holiday for a family of 5 then maybe they shouldn't be going.

Yes, they may have the right to cancel. But, they may also have booked a hotel on the strength of their funding, and cancelling that may have financial implications too. They may have booked onward travel and airport car parking, both of which may have adverse financial implications should they wish to cancel.0 -

Read Budgetflyer's post again. He didn't say it shouldn't affect their enjoyment, he said that if it *does* affect their enjoyment, maybe they shouldn't be going at all. I would tend to agree. Of all the things that can happen on a holiday, a 10 euro/per person added expense is an incredibly minor one. If that's enough to ruin a holiday, then I suggest staying at home as well because chances are that you'll have much bigger hiccups along the way. Not saying it isn't annoying and nobody likes to pay more money but let's keep things in perspective shall we?0 -

I didn't need to read it again. I read it correctly in the first place and I understand full well what was being said and I reiterate that it's not for us to say whether or not someones holiday would be ruined by this additional expense. If you are awash with money then it doesn't matter, but my point is that not everyone is.0 -

I'll try again: The claim isn't that nobody will have their holiday ruined by the additional expense. The claim is that *IF* an added expense of 10euro/pp is enough to ruin a holiday for someone, then it's probably best they not to go at all since there is a multitude of unexpected and bigger events that can and usually do happen on a holiday. It's two different claims. I'm sorry if you can't see that but I don't think I can make it any clearer.0 -
Sorry to butt in but has anybody actually been charged this extra yet ?????
I have about 10 flights booked with Ryanair in the next 10 weeks or so.
First one is next week......no money been taken yet.....0 -
Sorry if this is an obvious question but are you flying from Spain? The tax increase only applies to departures from some Spanish airports.0

You don't need to make your view any clearer to me. I can read and I can fully understand your written word and I understand your take on it. What you are failing to understand and/or take on board is that I don't agree with you.I'll try again: The claim isn't that nobody will have their holiday ruined by the additional expense. So you think that if an unexpected 10 euro/pp added expense ruins a holiday for someone, then they should go anyway? That's fine, we'll have to agree to disagree about that though I think people like that are unlikely to ever have a holiday that isn't ruined.0
