Luton airport parking enforcement notice

trisontana wrote: »How do you know those traffic jams were caused by motorists stopping to let passengers off? Have you ever been to the airport at about seven o'clock in the morning? There are traffic jams every day, not caused by the above, but by sheer weight of traffic owing to the inadequate road system in the airport.
I think Wallbash said that as well.Lucky you .
To others flying out of Luton , please remember that the 'rush' hour is VERY early morning , the Easy Jet fleet depart from 7 , so those thinking that 5.30 am the place will be quiet are in for a shock.
Seems a simple solution but of course human nature takes over. Dropping off can take a very short time , esp when their is limited luggage.
But in reality , the drop off becomes also the meeting place, then the time can and so often does get lengthened. The drop off gets full and back to chaos.
In no where in this thread have I argued that the 'fine' is legal but there is a problem that needs solving .
As you might have guessed I live within a 20 min drive of the airport , up there at least once a month , I do know what I am talking about .
Its a £1 coin , if you can afford to fly , pay the fee.0 -
Can someone remind me where the traffic lights are ?
I recall the ones on Airport way ( left turn to BQ /Halfords etc) , then its a slipway to the hotel roundabout , pass the FREE drop off . under pass . up to the disputed roundabout ..........where are the traffic lights.
I am not going to say there are no TL , its just I cant recall them .0 -

Another if I may , how far do the cctv / disputed no stopping zone cover?
Its obvious that the roundabout is covered , but do the restrictions apply 'North' of the underpass? soon as you have passed the FREE drop off zone ?
Anywhere on the private airport road??
I am only seeking clarification .0 -
Thanks ManxRed but that picture is already out of date. ( 2010)
After the drop off zone you used to turn left to rejoin the roundabout , now they direct you right . You drive a considerable distance around the short term car park and rejoin the carriage way south of the entrance to the Drop off zone.0 -
I have just received a “PARKING ENFORCEMENT NOTICE” for 02-Dropping off / Picking up outside of a designated parking area at Luton Airport.
How nice it is!
I have read all the comments here and still a bit paranoid about that what happens if I don’t pay it.
First of all I will receive more letters, and then harassing phone calls.
Are you really really really 100% sure they can not have the legal right to get me to pay this fine?0 -
Only a court can legally issue a fine.
So yes, I'm 100% sure.
What you actually have is an invoice, based on a civil claim that you owe them money.
In such a civil claim the landowner, and the landowner ONLY, (i.e. not the parking company if they do not own the land) can pursue the driver (who may not necessarily be the registered keeper, and they don't know, so leave it that way), for the actual financial losses incurred as a result.
Which is £0.00.
So, the landowner can pursue the driver for £0.00
Which is a bit different from 'the parking company can pursue the registered keeper for £60.
The first one is the true legal position, the second one is what the PPC are claiming. They are legally stuffed.Je Suis Cecil.0 -

Apart from the one about the phone calls, which don't happen in all cases, the answer to your questions is yes.
I've just fined you £10 for putting your first post in the wrong thread. I have exactly the same legal right to impose a fine as they do. None.
PS. And you're not paranoid, if they really are out to get you.
