Surly its better to avoid the 'letters' in the first place??

I wouldn't disagree with that, but unfortunately the original poster doesn't have a time machine, so if its all the same to you, we'll carry on advising based on the current situation, not the hypothetical one you're trying to debate instead.

True no time machine , so its up to posters like me to keep reminding people that parking on roundabouts will occur some nasty letters.

Cant see any hypothetical problems with that.

PS any one who cares about the problems at Luton , just use Google Earth , 'roundabout' and drop off clearly marked only the 3ft high fence is harder to spot.

No, I can't see a problem with it either. Just go and do it in your own thread, and not someone else's.

Fair comment then, so you are 100% behind Wallbash when he made the statement earlier?

The clocks ticking (but I won't be holding my breath waiting for Mikey to find such a post.)

The clocked ticked over on you. You certainly read it, and you certainly haven't advised to use the facilities correctly, and pay the pound, so we'll take that as proof you advise not paying?
If you are advocating paying, and are 100% behind Wallbash, you have until July the 10th to prove me wrong. It's a very, very simple yes you have to type here. Is Wallbash right?

You seem to have a seriously big problem of understanding. No one said it was my thread.

The point is, its not yours.

If you want to get your very own thread then just post a new topic.

Its not THAT hard, even for you. Probably.

Hi - I got a parking enforcement notice from APCOA Parking Ltd "for the alleged contravention of 02-Dropping off/ Picking up outside of a designated parking area."

I had no idea this would incur a fine (they say there were notices clearly displayed). I was less than 1 minute whilst my cousin crossed the road and got in.

I know the advice is to ignore this but I've never done anything like this, my husband wants to just pay up - can you persuade me/ us we shouldn't?

Back to the OP, ( above) as you can see the person had no idea that this would incure a "fine" with the exception of airport workers, and people who have regular buisness at airports its highly unlikly that people will be able to stop and read notices such as those favoured by PPCs.
The OP may not have even been aware that they should pay £1 to use a pick up/drop off area.
If I was driving to an airport to pick someone up, and that person was at the side of the road, or just poped across the road I would do the same and pick them up there and then, having of course made sure that it was safe to do so.

and to add further advice, ignore the letters, and then if they start the trheats, and the OP wants them to stop politely tell them that you consider the letters to be harrasment.

Only in your feeble little mind, but not in anyone elses.

No, Wallbash is not right. You don't have to pay £1 to drop off at Luton, it can be done for free.

Now, the clock is ticking still.
