It could just be that the op is consoling her friend, she may have been on mse to check out advice about benefits/finances or the housing situation for her friend and is now helping her back up his stuff, these things aren't a 5min convo then it's done and dusted.DEC GC £463.67/£450

This is obviously how he thought grown-up life should be, following his father's example!
Yes I thought that too. It's really very sad. His father set something running that damaged not just his own kids but their kids too.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

A friend of ours had a child with his then gf who looked like him. No question about paternity. They then went on to have another child who didn't look like him but had the same red hair as mum so no question about paternity there either. Until 1 year later our friend was at his drug dealer's house (I know I know - he's not really a friend these days) when he spotted a picture of one of the dealer's kids who was the image of son number 2. Aye, you've guessed it. That's how mum was funding her drug habit - sleeping with the dealer. The truth finally came out but he was devastated as he's brought the wee lad up for a year believing he was his own. The wee lad still calls him "Daddy xxx" when he visits.
It's unbelievable how some people live their lives - in total chaos. I'd be exhausted trying to keep my stories straight.0 -
Not being pedantic, genuinely wondering is "Pregnant For" a common phrase? I've never heard it before unless it is due to surrogacy but OP has used this phrase twice so it's obviously not a typo. I've heard of "Pregnant To Him" but never "Pregnant FOR Him".
It kind of sounds like a favour or something!0 -

A colloquialism, apparently. Not sure what 'region' it's from though
'Pregnant for him' is a reasonably common regional colloquialism which basically means 'pregnant by him.'Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
