I have to say that I find Mr s basics range the best out of all the supermarkets and overall my shop there is cheaper! I find mr t and mr m very expensive:confused:

I'll try Sainsurys basic range soon bertiebots. Thanks for that!

You did mention a whole load of basic Sainsburys goods, it was like a complete shop. Is this your best shop ever or have you sincerely found your best value foods are all from Sainsbury's?
  • I only buy the Tesco fruit & fibre cereal... tried it once and loved it. Now I CAN'T enjoy the brand version as it just doesn't taste 'right' - too sugary and cardboard-y. That wasn't even intentional money-saving either! :)
I'm learning little by little... I'll get there one day!!!

Those are all foods that I have got at sainsburys (not all at once of course:eek: )..i think their basics range is better than the other shops value ranges. For eg.the baked beans are full of beans as well as sauce unlike so many others and there tinned veg is the same...forgot to mention tinned sweetcorn which is very good and only 20p!
Despite its reputation for being expensive I do find sainsburys cheaper and the nectar card point system is a bonus because you can use the points in so many ways ...not just at or in sainsburys. Very handy for xmas ..I have been saving my points since march for my xmas shop!

  • Just To Say I Completely Agree, Sainsbury's 'basics' Range Is Excellent Value And Quality, Other Supermarkets Value Ranges Just Don't Compare In My Opinion.

I try to buy products like tinned veg, with reduced salt & sugar content. It's as much for human health as for our Iggie--who is the intended recipient should fresh fruit & veg be sparce in the house for whatever reason.

Asda OL are especially good for "in water" but I think a lot of Value lines from any store tend to come in brine :o

For a many years I have bought "own brand" talcum powder from either Superdrug, Boots or Tescos, But for the last two or three months I have been unable to find any at all. I object to paying through the nose for a Branded varieties:mad: but it seems I am to have no choice. I did find Imperial Leather talcum powder on half-price offer in a small chemist in Newport Pagnellthe other day, but it's not cost effective to go there every time I want talcum powder.

Are they stopping doing their own in order to force us to buy the expensive stuff I wonder?

Sainsburys basics milk chocolate digestives are really nice. I think I prefer them to McVities.
  • Tesco value custard creams are scrummy, i actually have to not buy them or i eat far too many:o
