Has anyone tried the ground value coffee? Was eyeing it up the other day but thought I'd ask the experts (you) first!

I love value beans! Can't stand the leading brand anymore! As for coffee, buy beans and grind your own. Cheaper and tastes much better!
Sadly, you don't have any badges yet but keep trying! See what you could get........... oh boo hoo I am crying into my wine. :D

I don't know if they have them all the time, because I'd never seen them before, but Asda has a 1kilo pack of "Smart Price" sirloin steaks. They're perfectly alright, individually vacuum packed. They're very thin, but they'd make excellent sandwich steaks if you don't want to just eat a very thin steak. I think they're about £7 a kilo, which is pretty good for sirloin steak.

They're definitely much better quality than the usual thin frying/sizzle steaks. I mean, they cook up much more tender.

My OH had the value instant coffee, and he said it was alright, pretty drinkable (although he did prefer gold blend )

I hated the baked beans. They are syrupy and taste like mixed spice

I am going to try the value casserole pork - my first foray into value meat

We eat this a couple of times a week for a cheap pudding. It's also a good way of getting the kids to have milk without them knowing it. You can also freeze it to make a nice ice cream.

Glad to see this thread is still going strong :)
I make this with extra milk and serve as a "thick" shake. My boys love it
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman

Don't do it. I've got a lotta love for the value range but value tea / coffee are truly gross and you'll end up chucking it out. I'd be better putting the money towards a small but nice jar!
