I made the gravy with TESCO VALUE granules using the stock from the meat and the water from the veg and she said it was delicious and keeps saying to my mum about the gravy i made!!

The stuffing was fresh out of a TESCO VALUE packet and Gran told me it was really nice, all good until sheasked me how I made it, a quick thought then the reply was... umm, well, Gran, I found a recipe on the internet!! AND... Got away with it!

    Well done you!!!!!!

I really love Sainsbury's basic range ~ the biscuits are yummy, and ok for nut allergy sufferers, the tortilla chips are great, hooly hoops ~ yummy, tinned toms ~ juicy, beans and spaghetti ~ really saucy, diced pork ~ lean, cheese ~ flavoursome, buffallo mozzarello ~ incredible value.

They're all a few pennies more than the other supermarkets basics, but think there's a whole heap more pennies quality in them.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

just tried tesco value ginger nuts-yum yum yum.
really tasty and crunchy, and best bit is, looking at ingredients, no hydrogenated fats-label states veg oil, so very pleased with those ones. I love ginger biscuits, especially if have had a heavy night the night before ;)

I tried tesco Value red wine last night, £2.99 for 1 litre and it was ok. i was really surprised! I expected it to taste like vinegar but it didn't. Quite light for red wine but tasted fine.

I tried Sainsbury's Basics baked beans yesterday - absolutely fine, OH wouldn't have known the difference. Refused to pay 65p for a tin of beans (Heinz) and there weren't any Sainsbury's own, so opted for 29p Basics & will now be buying them in future.

My other regulars (all Sains) are:
    Tortillas
    Chocolate digestives
    Peppers
    Onions
    Carrots
    Natural yoghurt
  • Sainsbury's Basics Nice Biscuits - great, rich coconut flavor

ASDA Hazelnut Chocolate Spread (not Smartprice - haven't tried that yet) - I love this spread & find it smoother than Nutella. Plus it's so inexpensive (used to be ~74p now up to 98p though :( ).

Hi My OH is a bit of a fuss pot re basics or value or smart price - so unless they are well hidden, the cheapest i can get to is store own standard brand items. Still way cheaper than most branded stuff. Still i digress!

I would add the Sains cooking bacon - smartprice

Its a bit of a lucky dip - you may get smoked/unsmoked/back/middle/streaky/collar etc.

Pack 1 - had five bacon chops - result
Pack 2 - about 40 slices of lean squashed up streaky bacon.

Each pack is usually chopped into pieced - divided into 4 smaller portions and frozen.

Good for pasta sauce, pizza topping, bacon and egg pie or quiches.
