Right, because people without children can't possibly comprehend that there's sometimes a gap between ideals and reality. smiley-rolleyes010.gif

The thread is now wider than just child rearing, anyway.

and YOU don't comprehend that, it's obvious

Forgot to say that you are probably more the clever one for deciding
    not to have any;)

Raising emotionally well rounded, hard working, ethical, kind, contributing members of society is very impressive. I have all kinds of respect for good parents.

Merely making them doesn't mean much at all.

Maybe I've just seen enough indifferent or actively harmful parenting that I don't believe in the myth of 'mummy knows best' in every case.

(I'm not having any because doing it well looks far too much like hard work, not so much clever as lazy )

    o. It can feel very enpowering posing naked. You can utterly believe you are empowered and choosing it yourself etc etc, then, some years later realise that while your feelings were genuine at the time that doesn't make them right.

Hmm, not sure i have expressed tht clearly.

you did express it clearly :)

ha ha ha, YEP, can't wait for this one! I feel it's their right to express themselves however they wish, much as I find it distasteful and degrading, BUT really Person_One how do YOU feel?

Are you going to tell me to 'go play in traffic' again?

Really? Not sure where you are coming from with this. For her it may be right, or even right for now, I am not aware she has decided irrevocably not to have any (could be wrong) but even if that is so, that is a personal decision, does that make her cleverer or just right for her and her situation?

and heres the thing, if you 'think' about how you are raising your children, 'maybe' you are a) doing your best b) not lazy c) it should be recognised as such??? and not discounted by theorists who have no idea of the sacrificies (sp) involved...........

Honestly, I have no idea what your beef is. If I'm upsetting you in some way, please, feel free to put me on ignore. You can do it by clicking on my user name, just to the left.
