  • I think I found the source of the smell and cleaned it up so hopefully things will go back to normal :) It was something on the back of a plastic chair that had dried so no clue, I am just relieved not to have found a decomposing body!

At least when the kids rooms come up this week they have all been done ;) Off to do (late) dinner :p

I've also cleared the mega-hotspot in the kitchen/diner and sorted the food cupboards. Got rid of papers found under a tray. Found 3 packets of nan bread & 6 packets of popadoms. Glass sorted to take to recycling.
There is only 16p in my purse so DS is paying for the milk which he has gone out in the rain to buy. Well I went out in the rain yesterday to get teabags for him so I think that's fair.

So... how are the "special ones" doing? Are you finding the thread a help??

Oh dear :( I don't know how you all do it!

It's nearly 8pm, I'm only just sitting down to eat and I've achieved virtually nothing from today's list. It's taken all my time just to stay on top of the washing, cooking, washing up, kids etc plus chatting to mum and nan during the hour they were here and now I have neither energy nor motivation for flying. I think I'd manage ok if it wasn't for work... or the children... or if none of us had any other activities/social life!

So how do those of you who have children and work manage? It's not like I work particularly long hours (9-3, 5 days a week at the moment) and I'm sure there are plenty of people who work much longer hours and don't live in a hovel??

  • Good evening everyone

Well not much go done yesterday. After I went to the dr and did some shopping with DH, I had no energy left.

However, today I decided to do what needed to be done and no more.

    stripped bed
    wm x 1
    td x 1
    cleaned bathroom
    remade bed
    dusted lounge & hall
swept hall, utility room, kitchen & dining room
DH made the bread and the dinner

That is my lot for today

    Hi

MrsB I'm a mummy of two kiddies under 4yrs, and I work part time but am on leave this week. I usually work mon-wed 8.30-16.30. Which is exactly why I needed flylady. Gives me structure. In the beginning, I only did level 1 but each week got a bit easier. I've also been decluttering for a few months, and it is so much easier to clean without lots of "stuff".

Stick with it, it really does get easier each time. Don't try to catch up, just stick with the list for that day, and start with one or two things.

The hhc is itself a minor miracle, set the timer and just see what you can get done in 30min if you crack on. You'll be amazed. Then, after the first month, it all becomes habit. Making it easier still.

Having said that I am very tired today and have let the kiddies off with tidy time so the conservatory is a tip, but I did clear the kitchen after tea, just need to empty DW in morning.

Oh, and my last tip: white vinegar instead of fabric conditioner, and hang clothes to dry as soon as washer finishes, give them a good shake and hardly anything will need ironing. The iron is my nemesis lol xxx

There are also some of us who don't work at all yet still live in a hovel..

    DW been on twice
    3 loads of laundry done..
    vacuumed most of downstairs..
Bought half of tesco and put it away
partially swept the kitchen and emptied a few bins..
    Destroyed 1 huge cobweb.
