  • Had one of those mornings & it's not even 11 yet lol, my Dad's electric went off last night so rather than call me (knowing I was up watching olympics) last night he left it til 7am this morning. Call to council for him to be asked all sorts of questions that I didn't know - how long has t been off for? Is any other houses affected? etc etc They asked if he could get to the trip switch which is high up on a wall - he's 80 next month so I said no I don't want him to try that's why they have estate caretakers for the elderly. EVENTUALLY she said she'd get someone out to him. Turns out is kettle has been leaking over the plug so it's tripping the electrics.

  • good luck with it. Agree about Letting agencies, have you tried to find a landlord that doesn't go through an agency? Thats if they exsist:rotfl:
I haven`t. Thing is, I would try and find one (wouldn`t matter to me) but the other half has the attitude of 'I don`t trust independant landlords'. Yet moans when you get alot of charges. I.just.can`t.win. :rotfl:200 quid administration costs took the mickey a bit tho. Just to fill in some papers.

It's like Surveys used to be (think it might have changed now). When we were selling our house in 84, we had the same surveyor come for 3 different prospective buyers! What a waste of time and money, such a rip off.

My Dad was as bad. He's 86 and disabled. His electric went off one evening and he sat in his riser chair all night!! He couldn't get out of it because it runs on electricity. I was so cross with him, he has a pendant round his neck that he can press for help but didn't want to disturb anyone.

Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to the new members

Nothing to report prize wise here.

Still waiting for my wii to arrive I was getting worried I had been forgotten but its seems I'm not alone.

Lovely day wish I could spend it in the garden but so much to do indoors after the weekend and must do a food shop too.

    Have a lucky week.

    hiya zombieslayer :)
not sure how others do the images think some put them in thier photobucket/ or go througth thier preferred site for saving pics,
    etc

i just get the image i want from either my fave's saved or google/wherever
depending on your settings i supose but all i do is..

    once you've found your image
scroll across the picture & you should see a 'blue' image across it,
right click your mouse & you should get a drop down list showing with
    save picture as
    email picture .. etc
a little further down you should see a 'copy'
right click on the ' copy '

then on your posting/page position where you want your picture

right click your mouse again & you should get a drop list with
    with undo etc
a little further down you should see a ' paste '

click on the 'paste' & your picture should show

    stock-photo-391478-four-leaf-clover.jpg

not very good at explaining :o
but basically all i do is scroll across pic, right click mouse, click on copy,
position where pic will go & right click on paste

hope it works for you xx

Re images there are tips here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=412932#post412932

    & via the guide:

10 How can I put a picture in my post?
Once you have found the image that you want, you need to obtain its properties. (Right click the image & select properties). The properties should end in .gif or .jpeg
Highlight & copy the image location, then return to your posting screen on MSE. Put your cursor in the post where you want the picture to appear.
    PicturePost1.jpg

Click the 'insert image' icon & remove the 'http://' text from the box which appears, (as mentioned above) & click 'OK'.

Preview the post first because the picture may be huge & stretch the page which is a bad thing. If the Preview looks OK then when you submit the post should too.

If you end up with a little red cross that is bad as you have hotlinked. It means you have directly linked to an image that the originating site does not want people to link to directly. So you will either need to find another image which isn’t protected against hotlinking or save the image & host it yourself, which is outside the scope of this Guide. There is another Image Guide elsewhere on MSE which goes into the more complex areas further.

Do remember that there are possible copyright restrictions on images on the net & these must be respected.
